Leaving Snacks Out For Delivery Drivers
Our friendly neighborhood drivers put in long days, and their hard work makes my life so much easier! In this article, I will show you how to set up a front porch snack station for your friendly neighborhood delivery people. Leaving snacks out for delivery drivers is simple and easy. And guess what? I’ve got a little something extra for you at the end – an adorable, free printable sign to jazz up your snack station!
Let’s be honest; a hungry delivery driver is like a superhero without a cape. These fantastic folks are constantly on the go, hustling to bring us the goodies we can’t live without. They work long hours, and I want a way to show my appreciation for them! So, why not pay it forward with a tasty treat? Snacks are the secret sauce to turning a regular delivery into a fantastic, smile-inducing experience.
The Snack Station 101
Now, let’s talk logistics. Leaving snacks out for delivery drivers doesn’t have to be complicated. Let’s keep it simple. A small table, a basket of snacks, and a cheery sign are all you need. It really is that easy! It’s like creating a mini oasis of happiness right at your front door.
I already have a small table on my front porch. I grabbed a small plastic bin from the local Dollar store to fill with treats and snacks! Simple. Easy.
What to Include?
What snacks should you include in your basket for delivery drivers? The beauty of the snack game is its versatility. It’s a great idea to have a variety of snacks because you just don’t know what your delivery driver might be craving when they show up on your doorstep to deliver your holiday gifts. I like to include some healthy options, too. Here are some of my favorite items to add to the basket.
Keep in mind that you really can add anything! Don’t make leaving out snacks for delivery drivers complicated. Get your young children involved in picking out snacks and treats. This is a fun way to show them that a small act of kindness can make a big difference!
Snacks
Here are some ideas for snacks. Throw in some granola bars, fresh fruit, trail mix, protein bars, packages of nuts, craisins, chips, or crackers. Rummage around your pantry and see what fun snacks you have lying around to add to your delivery driver’s snack basket. Or, make a special trip to the store to grab a few popular choices.
Treats
It’s fun to throw a few treat options into the basket, too. Here are some of my favorite ideas. Candy bars, snack bags of cookies, individually wrapped snack cakes, or any wrapped candy. You could also add some holiday items like candy canes to your basket of goodies!
Drinks
Remember to add a few drink options! Making deliveries all day long is sure to make delivery folks thirsty. I always make sure to add bottled water! You could also add capri suns, soda, energy drinks, or even your favorite protein drinks. Make sure you have bottles of water, though. If you live somewhere that’s chilly in the winter, you don’t even have to worry about keeping the drinks cold! Mother nature takes care of that part, which is nice because cold drinks are always a good idea!
The Free Printable Sign
I’ve whipped up a fantastic free printable sign to elevate your snack station game. Just click the image to download, print, and let the magic happen! This eye-catching sign not only adds a dash of charm to your setup but also lets your delivery heroes know they’re stepping into a snack wonderland.
I took my printable to our local print shop and had them laminate it so it would hold up better to the outside winter weather. If you’re not going to laminate it, print it out on some cardstock or glue it to a piece of cardboard so it will stand up in your basket.
I left a lot of black space at the bottom so that it can stand up right inside your goody baskets, but still have the text show up well. You want to ensure your delivery drivers know the snack basket is open to them! They’re going to be so excited when they read the sign! It’s a great way to spread Christmas cheer.
Spread the Snack Love
Now that you’re armed with snacks and a snazzy sign, you’re ready to start leaving snacks out for delivery drivers! It’s time to share the love, one delivery at a time. Whether it’s postal workers, Amazon drivers, a UPS driver, or any other delivery person, your porch snack baskets are a simple way to show delivery driver appreciation! Your house is probably going to be the favorite house on their route.
Get your family involved in creating an excellent day for your delivery drivers. My family loves to help pick out the snacks and arrange the basket. Each night, when we bring the basket inside, there’s lots of excitement to see what has been taken! Last year, we had a package of crasins that no one seemed to want(not a top choice among delivery drivers, it seems!), and it became a family joke. We would always laugh about it and wonder when someone might choose that lonely package of crasins. We checked the basket multiple times a day to see if it had been taken yet. One day, right before Christmas, the package of crasins was finally chosen, and everyone in the family was so excited! Now, putting out a snack basket during the Christmas season is one of our favorite family traditions!
I like to think that our little bit of kindness goes a long way. It sure brings happiness to our family by knowing we’re hopefully brightening someone else’s day. It’s an easy way to share joy and kindness this holiday season! Plus, with the amount of online shopping I do for Christmas presents, I keep my neighborhood delivery drivers busy! So, they deserve some kind of award! Hopefully, a snack is the next best thing.
