Easy Cherry Dump Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Can(21 oz) cherry pie filling (or 4 cups of homemade cherry pie filling)
  • 1 Box(15.25 ounces) yellow or white cake mix
  • 1/2 Cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the Baking Dish
    Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  • Add the Cherry Filling
    Spread the cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. If using fresh cherries, mix them with a little sugar before adding them. Mix vanilla into filling if you're using it.
  • Add the Cake Mix
    Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the cherry filling. Do not stir; let it sit on top.
  • Drizzle Butter & Syrup
    Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, ensuring as much coverage as possible for even baking.
  • Bake
    Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. The edges should be slightly crisp.
  • Cool & Serve
    Let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence!
