Ingredients

Banana Cookies

  • 1/2 cup Butter(softened)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 cup Banana(mashed)
  • 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cloves
  • 1 pkg Semi sweet chocolate chips

Banana Frosting

  • 2 Cups Powdered sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Banana(mashed)
  • 2 Tbs Butter(softened)
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  • Pre heat oven to 350. In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and ground cloves. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, then beat until fluffy.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the mashed bananas. Stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Scoop the dough onto a greased cookie sheet using a cookie scoop or spoon, spacing them evenly.
  • Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until the edges are set and slightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.

Banana Frosting

  • In a medium bowl, cream together the powdered sugar, mashed banana, softened butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Adjust the consistency if needed—if the frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar; if too thick, add a small amount of milk.
  • Generously frost each cooled cookie with the banana buttercream.
