Once you’re in the park, keep your list handy and check things off as you go. It’s a fun, stress-free way to make sure you don’t forget any of your must-try snacks, and by the end of the day, you’ll have a little foodie souvenir filled with all the flavors of the Festival of Holidays!

Festival of Holidays Food Booths and the Sip and Savor Pass

The Festival of Holidays features a variety of themed food booths around Disney California Adventure, each with its own festive flavors and drinks. Every booth has two lines — one for ordering and one for picking up food.

Here’s a time-saving tip: you can order everything you want to try at one of the Festival of Holidays booths, pay for it all at once, and then keep your receipt. Throughout the day, just show your receipt at the pickup line for each booth to grab your food. It’s such an easy way to skip the longer ordering lines and enjoy more of the festival.

If you plan to try several items, it’s worth considering a Sip and Savor Pass. The pass comes with digital coupons you can redeem for tasting-size portions of food or nonalcoholic drinks at participating booths. You’ll pay a flat rate up front, and it can be a good value if you’re sampling multiple items. It’s also shareable and valid for the entire festival, so you can use it over multiple visits. You don’t need a Sip and Savor Pass to enjoy the festival though. I usually don’t buy one.

And let me tell you, my taste buds recently went on a flavor adventure when I tried the Quesabirria Tacos at the Disneyland Resort. Spoiler alert: they were absolutely delicious!

Quesabirria Tacos At Disneyland Resort

Now, if you haven’t heard of Quesabirria Tacos before, let me give you the lowdown. Picture this: tender, juicy beef nestled between two crispy tortillas, oozing with melted cheese and accompanied by a flavorful consommé for dipping. Are you drooling yet? Because I sure was.

I stumbled upon these mouthwatering tacos at the Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill tucked away in Disney California Adventure Park. The aroma alone drew me in, and I knew I had to give them a try. Plus, I’m always up for trying something new, especially when it comes to food!

As I took my first bite, I was greeted with a burst of flavor that instantly transported me to taco heaven. The beef was perfectly seasoned and oh-so-tender, while the crispy tortillas added a delightful crunch with every bite. And let’s not forget about the cheese—ooey, gooey, and absolutely irresistible. Queso Birria Tacos are basically cheese tacos with shredded beef and lots of flavor.

But what really took these tacos to the next level was the consommé. It was rich, savory, and packed with depth of flavor. Each dip elevated the taco-eating experience, adding an extra layer of deliciousness that kept me coming back for more. These aren’t just good tacos, they’re theme park food at it’s best! 

Now, I have to admit, I’m a bit of a spice wimp, so I’m happy to report that these quesabirria tacos aren’t spicy, but they do have a lot of flavor! 

Make sure you ask for the tomatillo salsa. It comes with the tacos, but cast members often forget to give it to you.  Let me tell you, this green salsa take these tacos to the next level! it was the perfect finishing touch. The tangy heat of the salsa complemented the richness of the beef and cheese beautifully, creating a flavor combination that was out of this world.

Mickey Pretzel With Cheese

Not all pretzel cheese is created equal at the Disneyland Resort.  We prefer the Mickey Pretzel and cheese from Refreshment Corner on Main Street in Disneyland.  In our opinion, it’s far superior, plus you can mobile order and that’s a huge bonus! You can also find Mickey Pretzels at various carts throughout Disneyland. 

Turkey Leg

When it comes to iconic Disney snacks, there’s one that stands out for its sheer size and savory appeal – the colossal turkey leg. These protein-packed behemoths are a favorite among Disneyland visitors.  Turkey legs are not your average park snack; they’re a full-on meal. And just like any intergalactic journey, you’ll need sustenance. That’s where the Ronto Wrap comes in. What makes the Ronto Wrap so special is the harmonious combination of ingredients. It features a grilled, mildly spiced sausage made from a blend of pork and beef, topped with tangy coleslaw and tucked into a warm, fluffy pita bread. It’s the perfect balance of savory and fresh, with a hint of exotic spice.

Amid the enchanting rides, colorful parades, and beloved Disney characters at Disneyland, there’s another type of magic that’s equally captivating but perhaps less celebrated – Disneyland’s chimichangas!  Among the delectable offerings in the park, mozzarella sticks are a beloved snack that’s both simple and satisfying. This is one of our personal favorite snacks at the Disney Parks! Mozzarella sticks are beloved by both kids and adults.

They’re a family-friendly snack, making them an excellent choice for parents who want to satisfy their children’s cravings while also enjoying a savory treat themselves. They’re also served with fries, so they could technically count as a meal!  Find them at Disneyland at the Golden Horseshoe or Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland. Bacon Mac and Cheese Cone

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Bacon Mac and Cheese Cone is its whimsical presentation. Served in a cone-shaped bread, it’s like a magical meal straight out of a fairy tale. The visual appeal alone makes it a fun and exciting treat.

To fully optimize your character dining at Disneyland experience, choosing the right time of day is essential. While breakfast seems obvious, it’s also the most popular and can have longer wait times. Consider scheduling a mid-morning or mid-afternoon meal or even dinner instead, as these times tend to be less busy and more affordable.

Additionally, character interactions are often more relaxed during these periods, allowing for more quality time with your favorite Disney characters. Remember that meal times may vary depending on the location, so check the park’s schedule beforehand. By choosing the right time of day, you can make the most of your character dining experience and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones. 

 Remember that reservations for character dining at Disneyland fill up quickly, so book and plan accordingly. By choosing the right time of day, you can make the most of your character dining experience and create unforgettable memories with your family.

Dining reservations can be made at Disneyland 60 days in advance. If you have trouble getting a dining reservation, I recommend using Mouse Dining. They are an excellent service that helps you get hard-to-find dining reservations. You tell them where you want to dine and when, and they’ll send you an email or text notification when the dining reservation you’re looking for opens up. 

Consider the Location

To fully enjoy your character dining experience at Disneyland, it’s important to consider the location of the restaurant and the time of day that would work best for you. Each restaurant has its distinct atmosphere that can add to the overall experience.

If you plan on spending the morning in Fantasyland, a character breakfast at the Plaza Inn can be a great way to start your day. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a relaxing break after a long day in the park, a character dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen can provide just that. Remember that reservations fill up quickly, so plan accordingly and book in advance. 

Find the Best Deals

Once you’ve decided on the location and time of day for your character dining, it’s a good idea to check to see if any discounts are available. Although rare, occasionally, you can find a deal. Many restaurants offer discounts for Magic Key Holders. Some credit card companies offer discounts or special offers for Disneyland dining. Check for any current promotions or offers before booking your reservation. Getting the best deal can help you save money and make the most of your character dining at Disneyland experience.

Character Dining At Disneyland Options

There are quite a few character dining options at Disneyland! All character dining restaurants at Disneyland Resort are located outside the park(so no park tickets are required). The exception is Breakfast with Minnie and Friends, the only Disneyland character meal in the theme parks. Breakfast with Minnie and Friends requires a theme park ticket and reservation. 

Here are the Character Dining options at Disneyland and a brief overview of what you can expect, including the characters you can meet there. 

Minnie and Friends- Breakfast In The Park

This dining experience is the only one that happens inside the parks. You’ll need a park ticket for this dining experience. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at the Plaza Inn on Main Street with Minnie Mouse and her friends. Breakfast includes Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and a made-to-order omelet station. There’s an assortment of cereals, assorted muffins, danishes, fruit, and pastries. 

In addition to Minnie Mouse, you can expect to see Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Chip and Dale, and some of the mice from Cinderella(Suzy and Perla). Occasionally, Captain Hook, the fairy Godmother. or Pinnochio will join in the fun too. 

Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet

Located at the Storyteller’s Cafe inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, this fun character dining experience is available for breakfast and brunch. Breakfast includes assorted pastries, muffins, danishes, fresh fruit, carved meats, eggs, Mickey waffles and pancakes, seasonal french toast, and chili Verde Chilaquiles. You can expect to see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. The characters do an excellent job of roaming around the tables and interacting with guests. They’re happy to take photos, so ensure your cameras are ready! This is the only Disneyland character breakfast where you can meet Mickey Mouse!

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures

Located at the Napa Rose inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, this 3-course meal includes delicious food and activities with some of your favorite princesses! Breakfast consists of a 3-course meal with things like 3 tier tower of appetizers, princess waffles, and royal desserts. Upon arrival, Disney Princesses await to greet you and share your hopes and dreams before taking a photo on a beautiful private patio. You may participate in storytime with Belle or learn some fierce warrior poses with Mulan. Young adventurers are given a special keepsake to take back to their home kingdom to remember their magical morning!

Goofy’s Kitchen

Located inside the Disneyland Hotel, this fun character dining experience is available for breakfast and dinner.

For breakfast, you can enjoy a buffet with Mickey Mouse pancakes and waffles, french toast, bacon, sausage, and Goofy’s famous peanut butter and jelly pizza. You can expect to meet Goofy at the entrance before you sit down for your meal. You’ll get to snap a picture with him before you’re shown to your table. You might also see Chip & Dale, Minnie, and Pluto roaming around.

How Much Does Character Dining At Disneyland Cost? 

How much does character dining at Disneyland cost? Keep in mind, prices are subject to change at any time. All the character dining options are priced the same. You can expect to pay $35- $59.99 per person. The lower price is for children, and the higher price is for adults. The exception is the Disney Princess Adventures. This is one of the most expensive Disneyland character dining experiences. You will pay $125 at this location for adults and kids. 

Maximize Your Experience

To truly maximize your character dining at Disneyland Park, you should keep a few things in mind. First and foremost, make sure you arrive at the restaurant on time or even a few minutes early to ensure a smooth check-in process. Additionally, bring plenty of patience and flexibility, as character interactions and meal service can take longer than expected.

Remember to take advantage of any special activities or entertainment during your meal. From sing-alongs to photo opportunities, character dining experiences often include extra perks that can enhance your overall experience.

Another tip for maximizing your character dining at Disneyland experience is to come prepared with an autograph book and pen. This will allow you to easily collect signatures from your favorite characters like Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse without having to search for paper and writing utensils in the moment.

Make sure you take lots of pictures! The characters will come around to each and every table and interact with everyone in your group. You can get up from your table and take photos with the characters.

Finally, let the restaurant staff know if you celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary. They may be able to provide a special surprise or acknowledgment to make your experience even more memorable.

Character Dining At Disneyland

Character dining at Disneyland is a great way to see and interact with some of your favorite characters, without waiting in long lines. It’s also a great way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Disneyland and relax for a bit. Plus, you get to enjoy amazing food! So many great reasons to add character dining to your next Disney vacation. There are quite a few options for character dining at Disneyland. Dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen is fun, but Breakfast with Minnie and Friends at the Plaza inn is probably my favorite character dining experience at Disneyland. Plaza Inn Character Dining- Breakfast with Minnie & Friends

Let’s talk specifically about Plaza Inn character dining. Breakfast with Minnie & Friends might be my favorite character dining at Disneyland! There’s something so magical about dining inside the Plaza Inn right inside of Disneyland. The Plaza Inn is gorgeous and the construction and decorating were overseen by Walt Disney himself. Walt wanted the Plaza Inn to be a luxurious atmosphere for the average family to enjoy. It’s fun to dine in a little slice of park history. The restaurant is decorated in a sophisticated victorian style.

What To Expect

Character dining at the Plaza Inn is only available for breakfast. The characters will only be out and visiting guests until 11 am. When you arrive at the Plaza Inn, you’ll check in with the cast member in the front. When it’s your turn, you’ll get to meet Minnie Mouse! A photopass photographer will be there to take your picture. A digital copy of this photo is included with your breakfast via the Disneyland app. You’ll be given a complimentary button as a souvenir!

Next, you’ll head inside to grab your food. This character dining experience at Disneyland is an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. After you grab your food, you can select your own table. Indoor and outside seating is available. While you’re enjoying your meal, characters will come around to your table and pose for pictures, sign autographs and spend a little bit of time with you! Eat as much as you like and plan on sticking around for a while so you can see all of the characters.

Plaza Inn character dining at Disneyland costs $41 for adults and $24 for kids ages 3-9. Children under 3 are free. Magic Key discounts apply.

Food Options

There are so many choices for breakfast! Your whole family is sure to find lots of things you’ll love. My personal favorite is the mickey waffles(or Minnie waffles, I’m not picky!). I’m a sucker for mickey waffles! They’ve also got eggs, bacon sausage, buttermilk biscuit and gravy, and fried chicken! Add a little country gravy to your fried chicken. It’s so good! There’s breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit, a yogurt bar, assorted pastries, cold cereals, and even made-to-order omelets. They even have a banana foster french toast! It’s pretty yummy! Of course, you’ll find an assortment of coffee, tea, juice, and soft drinks to enjoy. This is an all-you-can-eat buffet, so you won’t leave hungry! There are so many options to choose from, even your pickiest eaters are sure to find something they will love.

Which Characters Do You See?

Which characters will you see at the Plaza Inn character dining at Disneyland? Well, it depends on the day. You’ll always get to meet Minnie Mouse, but some of the other characters rotate. You may see Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Daisy Duck, Chip & Dale, and some of the mice from Cinderella(Suzy and Perla). Occasionally, some of the more rare characters like Captain Hook, the fairy Godmother. or Pinnochio will join in the fun too. You can plan on being able to meet 5 or 6 characters. The characters do a good job stopping in at each table and interacting with the guest. They’re happy to pose for photos, so make sure you have your camera ready!

What Makes Plaza Inn Character Dining Special?

There are a few things that make the Plaza Inn character dining at Disneyland special. Number one is it’s the only place you can find character dining right inside the Disneyland park. The Plaza Inn is located just off of Main Street and has amazing views of the castle! It’s really fun to be immersed in the Disneyland experience while you’re enjoying character dining.

The decor of the Plaza Inn is really beautiful. There are so many fun details to enjoy while you’re eating your breakfast.

The character interactions at Minnie & friends breakfast are really great! In my experience, each character makes a point to connect in some way with every single person in your group. This is such a great way to meet the classic Disney characters without waiting in line! Plus, you get a lot more personal attention from them. You can pose for pictures and have them sign your autograph book.

They have indoor and outdoor seating options. You can select where you sit. I like to have the option to enjoy the Main street, castle views, or the gorgeous decor inside the restaurant. I do feel like I may see an extra character or two when I eat inside the dining room.

Character Dining Tips

Here are some tips to help you make the most of your Plaza Inn Character Dining at Disneyland.

Make sure you have a dining reservation. Disneyland character meals are incredibly popular. To make sure they can accommodate you, book your Disneyland character dining reservation as soon as possible. Dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance on the Disneyland app or the Disneyland website. However, if you decide last minute that you’d like to do Plaza Inn character dining, just check with the cast members at the restaurant first thing in the morning. They might be able to squeeze you in.

I prefer to make my breakfast dining reservations a little bit later in the morning. This way, we can rope drop and take advantage of the shorter wait times in the morning. Kids who are excited to be at Disneyland usually don’t want to head straight to breakfast. They want to do some rides! If you shoot for a late breakfast around 9:30 or 10:00 am, you’ll be able to get some rides in while wait times are low and then take a break for a leisurely breakfast.

Prep your kids for meeting characters before your Disneyland vacation. Seeing characters up close might be overwhelming for some kids. Show your kids some pictures or videos of characters at Disneyland before your visit. Talk to them about who they might see and what will happen when they see them. Don’t rush! Sometimes when I’m visiting Disneyland, I find myself rushing along so we can get to the next thing on our list. Try not to hurry through your character breakfast. Take plenty of time to relax and enjoy your time with your family and the Disney characters.

Take tons of pictures and videos! These little magic moments on your Disney vacation pass quickly, but they will be some of your favorite memories. You’ll want to document them.

Sometimes you get hungry late at night while you’re visiting the Disneyland Resort. I mean “I want a meal” hungry. Not, “I want a churro” hungry. There are not a ton of dining locations open for late-night dining at Disneyland. By late night, I mean open until the park closes. Most quick-service restaurants close around 9:00 pm. Not to worry! I’ve rounded up all the choices for late-night dining at Disneyland. All of these options are open until the park closes(or close an hour beforehand). A couple of these options even have a special menu that’s only available for late-night dining!

This list will help you find the perfect something to eat while visiting Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. You don’t want to waste precious time searching for food when you could be riding on Space Mountain! All of the late-night dining at Disneyland options on this list are quick service options and do not require dining reservations. Make sure you check the Disneyland app on your visit to confirm the hours of any of the restaurants you want to visit, just to be on the safe side. You can also ask a cast member if you have any questions.

On this list, I’ve noted the location of each restaurant, some of the most popular menu items, and made a note if mobile ordering is available. I recommend mobile ordering whenever possible! This is a huge time saver! Why wait in long lines for food if you don’t have to? Skip the lines and mobile order your late-night snacks from your favorite places! You can view the full menu for each restaurant on the Disneyland app, so you can decide what sounds best to you! I like to browse the menus while I’m waiting in long lines. This can be a great way to pass the time.

You can mobile order your food anytime during the day. It’s a good idea to order a bit earlier in the day, so you don’t have to wait a long time if there are no reservations time available when you want to eat. I’ll often order my lunch, dinner, and a late-night snack all while I’m waiting in line first thing in the morning!

Here is a list of options for late-night dining at Disneyland! This list is of quick service options only. No dining reservation is required. There are also dessert and snack-type things like ice cream, churros, and popcorn available until closing time.

Enjoy hot dogs, chili dogs, and Mac & Cheese in a sourdough bread bowl. Consider adding on a cream cheese-filled pretzel for dessert. They are one of my favorite treats at Disneyland! The fact that you can mobile order the cream cheese pretzel(instead of waiting in line at a stand) makes this one of my favorite late-night dining at Disneyland options!

Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

Enjoy sandwiches like the oven-roasted turkey on ciabatta, or a Jolly holiday salad. My favorite is the Jolly Holiday Combo, which comes with a toasted cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup. It’s so yummy! Pick up the famous raspberry rose macaron from this location if it’s still available. It often sells out early in the day.

Little Red Wagon

Enjoy a hand-dipped corn dog that comes with a mandarin orange or a small bag of chips. Some people swear this is the best place in the whole park for corn dogs! I love that it’s open for late-night dining at Disneyland!

Galactic Grill is one of the places that offer the new late night menu! After 7:00 pm you can enjoy specialty burgers, a spicy chicken sandwich, or a chopped salad. My kids like the Cheeseburger(with American cheese). You might want to add a side of french fries!

Red Rose Tavern is another place that is offering a late-night menu. I’m most excited about this location for late-night dining at Disneyland. Fantasyland is so much fun at night! At the Red Rose Tavern after 7:00 pm, you can enjoy Classic Poutine(slow-cooked beef, gravy, cheese curds, and spiced pickled red onions on waffle fries), and Firelight Fries(tangy spiced chicken and pepperoncini ranch sauce on ranch seasoned waffle fries). If you have room, add the grey stuff for dessert. It’s delicious!

Galaxy’s Edge

Ronto Roasters

Enjoy a fan favorite Ronto Wrap(roasted pork, grilled pork sausage, peppercorn sauce, tangy slaw, wrapped in pita). It’s really good! They also serve a Ronto-less Garden Wrap(Plant-based sausage, spicy kimchi slaw, sweet pickled cucumber, plant-based gochujang spread, wrapped in pita) that’s really good too. This is the only options for late-night dining at Disneyland in Galaxy’s Edge.

This is one of my favorite late-night dining at Disneyland options! Enjoy “jungle skewers” like the Banyan Beef Skewer, Chieftain Chicken Skewer, or the Outback Vegetable Skewer. The pork belly skewer is delicious! If you’re in the mood for fresh fruit, try the pineapple spear. My favorite is the Bengal Rice Plate(choice of two skewers with rice and citrus-miso slaw).

Tropical Hideaway

The tropical hideaway is a great spot for a late night snack! They have a large seating area that’s usually pretty open late at night. You can enjoy a variety of bao buns or a traditional pork lumpia. This is also a great place to order a dole whip!

Frontierland

Stage Door Cafe

Stage Door Cafe is a great choice for late-night dining at Disneyland! But, be aware, that it may close a bit earlier than some of the other options on this list. Enjoy entrees like chicken tenders, fish and chips, and hand-dipped corn dogs. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, the funnel cake is wonderful!

Ship To Shore

This late-night dining at Disneyland option also closes a bit earlier than some of the others, but if you’re in the mood for a turkey leg, buttered corn, or a chimichanga, this is the place for you!

Late Night dining At Disney California Adventure Park

Here is a list of options for late-night dining at Disney California Adventure Park! This list is of quick service options only. No dining reservation is required. There are also dessert and snack-type things like ice cream, churros, and popcorn available until closing time.

Enjoy a Chicken drumstick box(3 seasoned legs with slaw), a jumbo smoked turkey leg, or a chimichanga. This is a better option than filling up with churros for dinner, right?

There are so many yummy things to enjoy at this location! The Not so little chicken sandwich is very popular(crispy chicken breast served with crispy potato bites). I like the PB3 Superb Sandwich(served with a micro banana smoothie and crispy potato bites). My favorite is the Quantum Pretzel(Bavarian-style with sharp cheddar cheese- beer sauce). It’s so yummy! They serve their full menu all evening.

Enjoy hot dogs and chili dogs at this location. They also have some delicious Asada Fries(Filmstrip fries topped with marinated carne asada, cheddar cheese, cilantro, and onions).

There you have it! A list of the late-night dining at Disneyland spots. You can also pop over to Downtown Disney for some late-night dining at Disneyland. They will have a few good options available for you. Whether this is your first time visiting Disneyland or you go often, I know that you will have such a good time!

Keep in mind, that if you’d like to make dining reservations for your Disneyland vacation you’ll need to make them 60 days in advance. Popular places like Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans in New Orleans Square and Carthay Circle in DCA will book up quickly. Advance dinner reservations are recommended. Disneyland has quite a few character breakfasts to choose from, so you’re sure to find something perfect for you! In this post, I cover all of the Disneyland character breakfast dining options, talk about where each is located what to expect and how much each option will cost. I’ll also tell you which option is my favorite and why. Plus, there is a little strategy that comes into a Disneyland character breakfast. I’ll fill you in on how to fit a Disneyland character meal perfectly into your vacation.

A Disneyland character breakfast is a great way to meet some of your favorite Disney characters without having to wait in line to see them! Plus, you’ll get to enjoy a delicious meal at the same time! It’s also a great way to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday. Or, just a fun add on to your family vacation. Disney does a great job making sure they have lots of child-friendly options on their menus, so your kids are sure to find something they are excited to eat!

There are four character breakfast dining options to choose from. Each option has different characters and a different theme/feel to the whole experience. The characters will come around to your table to interact personally with your group at each place. Make sure you have your camera and autograph book ready! The characters love to take pictures and sign autographs. Often times, you’ll see some of the more rare characters out at the Disney character dining for breakfast.

Character dining is very popular at the Disneyland Park and reservations are highly recommended. You can make dining reservations 60 days in advance using the Disneyland app or on the Disneyland website. If you don’t make reservations, you can check in with the restaurant on the day you’re visiting to see if they can accommodate you.

Disneyland Character Breakfast Options

Minnie and Friends- Breakfast in the park

This dining experience is the only one that happens inside the parks. You’ll need a park ticket for this dining experience. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet at the Plaza Inn on Main Street with Minnie Mouse and her friends.

There is ample indoor and outdoor seating at this location. I prefer to eat indoors just because I’m closer to the food and I feel like I see a few more characters this way.

Breakfast includes Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and a made-to-order omelet station. There’s an assortment of cereals and a variety of muffins, danishes, fruit, and pastries.

Before you are seated for breakfast, you’ll meet Minnie Mouse and get a picture with her. A digital copy of this photo is included with your breakfast via the Disneyland app.

In addition to Minnie Mouse, you can expect to see Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Chip and Dale, and some of the mice from Cinderella(Suzy and Perla). Occasionally, Captain Hook, the fairy Godmother. or Pinnochio will join in the fun too. The characters do a good job stopping in at each table and interacting with the guest. They’re happy to pose for photos, so make sure you have your camera ready!

Minnie and Friends- Breakfast in the parks costs $41 for adults and $24 for kids ages 3-9. Kids under 3 are free.

Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet

Located at the Storyteller’s Cafe inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, this fun character dining experience is available for breakfast and brunch.

Breakfast includes assorted pastries, muffins, and danishes, fresh fruit, carved meats, eggs, Mickey waffles and pancakes, seasonal french toast and chilli Verde Chilaquiles.

This Disneyland character breakfast is a favorite of many as far as a Disneyland character dining experience goes. It’s the best(and only way) to meet Mickey Mouse without waiting in line!

You can expect to see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. The characters do a good job of roaming around the tables and interacting with guests. They’re happy to take photos so, make sure you have your cameras ready! This is the only Disneyland character breakfast where you can meet Mickey Mouse!

Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet costs $49 for adults and $29 for kids ages 3-9. Kids under 3 are free.

Brunch and Dinner are also served here.

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures

Located at the Napa Rose inside Disney’s Grand Californian hotel, this 3-course meal includes delicious food and activities with some of your favorite princesses!

From the Disneyland website: Kids can let their imaginations soar during one-of-a-kind Princess-themed activities. Upon arrival, Disney Princesses are waiting to greet you and share your hopes and dreams prior to taking a photo on a beautiful private patio. You may take part in storytime with Belle or learn some fierce warrior poses with Mulan. Young adventurers are presented with a special keepsake to take back to your home kingdom to remember your magical morning!

The dining room at this Disneyland character breakfast is absolutely beautiful and the character interactions with the princesses are pretty special.

Breakfast includes a 3-course meal with things like 3 tier tower of appetizers, princess waffles, and royal desserts.

You can expect to see many of your favorite princesses who will be available for pictures!

The cost is $125 for adults and kids. Kids under 3 are free.

Goofy’s Kitchen

Located inside the Disneyland Hotel, this fun character dining experience is available for breakfast and dinner.

For breakfast, you can enjoy a buffet with things like Mickey Mouse pancakes and waffles, french toast, bacon, and sausage along with Goofy’s famous peanut butter and jelly pizza.

Goofy’s Kitchen is a pretty magical experience and is a great Disneyland character breakfast at the Disneyland resort hotels. It’s a good option for everyone, but younger kids will especially love it!

You can expect to meet Goofy at the entrance before you sit down for your meal. You’ll get to snap a picture with him before you’re shown to your table. You might also see Chip & Dale, Minnie, and Pluto roaming around. They do a good job of coming to each table to meet their fans. Have your cameras ready!

Cost is $39 per adult and $23 for kids 3-9 for Breakfast and $43 per adult and $25 for kids 3-9 for dinner. Kids under 3 are free.

My Favorite Disneyland Character Breakfast

My favorite Disneyland character breakfast is Minnie and Friends- Breakfast in the park. It’s my favorite because it’s the only character breakfast in the parks that’s located inside Disneyland. To me, that makes it pretty special. I love being able to eat on the patio and enjoy the castle views. I love feeling the fun, Disney vibe that you can only get while you’re inside the parks while I’m enjoying my Disney character breakfast. I think the Plaza inn is one of the best restaurants at Disneyland and I’ve always been really happy with the food quality.

It’s a great option for younger children and adults. Because it’s buffet style, your teens will love it too! You really can’t go wrong! I love the made-to-order omelets and the Mickey Mouse waffles. Make sure you arrive hungry because there are so many menu items you’ll want to try!

My second choice is Goofy’s Kitchen. It’s just such a fun, silly atmosphere and I really enjoy it. Plus, the famous peanut and butter jelly pizza is actually pretty yummy! This is also an all-you-can-eat buffet, so you’re sure to leave with a full tummy!

Disneyland Character Breakfast Strategies

I’m a planner and I love strategy. I love looking at a situation and thinking about how I could make it more efficient or run more smoothly. That’s what I started doing with our family Disneyland trips years ago and actually how I started my website! I really enjoy planning and figuring out how to make Disney vacations more efficient and stress-free.

That’s why I love rope dropping(more info here) and creating a Disneyland touring plan to avoid long lines(find more info here). So, of course, I applied this same logic to the Disneyland character breakfast! Here are a few tips that you might find helpful when you’re planning your Disneyland character breakfast.

1. Make your reservations 60 days in advance. Character dining is very popular and almost always requires an advance reservation. If for some reason, you’re not able to get a reservation or decide during your trip you’d like to add on a character dining experience you can always check with the cast member at the restaurant on the day you’d like to do the character dining. Sometimes they’ll be able to accommodate you.
2. If you’re doing character dining outside the park, try to schedule it on a non-park day. The first two hours of the day are the least crowded time of day. Lower crowds mean less time waiting in long lines. I hate to see you waste prime park time eating a long leisurely breakfast. So, make your dining reservations on a rest day if possible. Or schedule it for the day you’re leaving. This is a fun way to end your Disneyland vacation!
3. If you’re doing Minnie and Friends- Breakfast in the park, you’ll need to schedule your breakfast on a park day because a park ticket(and theme park reservation) are required to enter Disneyland. If possible, schedule your Disneyland character breakfast for later in the morning. This way, you can take advantage of the lower ride lines during the morning and be heading to enjoy breakfast right when the crowds are beginning to pick up.
4. Instead of a character breakfast, consider doing Goofy’s Kitchen for dinner on your arrival day. It’s the same experience you’ll get with breakfast, but at dinner time. Obviously, the menu will be different, but you’ll get to see all the characters and still enjoy some really good food!
5. Consider skipping character dining altogether. Although I love a good Disneyland character breakfast, they are expensive and do take up a chunk of time. So, if you’re looking to save money at Disneyland or are trying to find cheaper dining options at Disneyland, you can just skip the character dining. You can still have a great time at Disneyland even if you skip out on character dining. Character dining is a convenient way to meet the characters, but not the only way.
