Let’s chat about Disneyland dining packages and dessert parties!

Basic Info

Disneyland dining packages and dessert parties give you the ability to enjoy a nice meal or dessert and a show or parade. Although, you don’t always dine while watching the show. With some of the packages, you eat lunch or dinner and then arrive at the show viewing area a little before the show begins to watch it from a designated area. Each package is different. Keep reading for details.

In most cases, you will need to make reservations early. Disneyland dining packages and dessert party reservations can be made 60 days in advance on the Disneyland app and website. I recommend making reservations as early as possible. They do book up.

I recommend showing up 60 minutes early to all show viewing for the very best spot possible.

Plaza Inn Dining Package

The Plaza Inn Disneyland dining packages include lunch at the Plaza Inn and then reserved viewing for the parade. You pay for this reservation when you check in to your reservation. After you’ve paid, a cast member will receive a lanyard(Disney calls this a “credential” and a ticket for the reserved viewing area (Disney calls this a “voucher”). You’ll need both to enter the parade viewing area, so don’t lose them! The parade viewing reservation is for the first parade time of the day.

Dining time is between 1:00pm- 3:30pm. This is not a character dining experience. There are no characters at Plaza Inn during this time.

Package info:

Cost for Lunch: $40 per adult; $25 per child (ages 3 to 9) – tax and gratuity not included. Magic Key Holder discounts apply.

Here’s a sample of the prix fixe menu. The menu changes depending on the parade. This menu is from the Main Street Electrical Parade Dining Package.

Adult Dining Package Menu

  • World-famous Plaza Inn fried chicken
  • Oven-roasted carrots
  • House-made smoked mac & cheese
  • Bacon and pickled onion wedge salad served with house-made ranch dressing and blue cheese crumbles
  • Mickey-shaped sweet honey corn bread
  • Decadent berry cheesecake
  • Choice of one beverage: 20 oz. fountain beverage or 20 oz. Dasani water

Child Dining Package Menu

  • World-famous Plaza Inn fried-chicken leg
  • Oven-roasted carrots
  • House-made smoked mac & cheese
  • Apple sauce
  • Mickey-shaped sweet honey corn bread
  • Decadent berry cheesecake
  • Choice of one beverage: small Dasani water or small low-fat milk

Parade Viewing is in front of the train station on Main Street. Parade viewing is standing room only, although I’ve been able to sit on the curb both times I’ve done this package. People will start lining up to enter the parade viewing area about an hour before they start letting people inside. If you want to sit on the curb, be there an hour and 10 minutes beforehand. You are guaranteed a spot, so you can arrive right before the parade begins if you don’t want to wait in line. You will be asked to wear your lanyard the entire time you are in the parade viewing area.
