Disneyland In June

Summertime is an optimal time for many people to visit. This makes visiting Disneyland in June very popular! Although crowds can be higher due to Summer breaks across the country, you’ll still be able to have a great time on your Disneyland vacation. Summer is the best time for many families to visit. Being able to go on a vacation without kids missing school is really nice. Lots of families prefer to visit during the summertime over spring break.

There are lots of fun things taking place at Disneyland in June. Most of the rides at Disneyland are up and running(Disneyland does a lot of ride closures for refurbishments in January/February), and the nighttime entertainment is amazing. Park hours are longer during the summer months, which is really nice!

What to Expect

June in Disneyland has lots to offer! Let’s talk about what you can expect if you’re visiting Disneyland in June.

Crowds

June crowd calendar 2024

Disneyland in June will be fairly crowded and stay consistently crowded for the rest of the summer. Summer break brings in lots of guests this time of year. Although summertime is technically peak season at Disneyland, please don’t let crowds scare you away. You can still have a good time, even if it’s crowded. I’ve got lots of info for dealing with high crowd levels here. For the lowest June crowds, visit during the first week of the month. The best days to visit for lower crowds are Tuesday – Friday, avoiding weekends.

Grad Nite celebrations bring in higher crowds, so avoid those days(if possible). More info on Grad Nites is below.

Using Lightning Lane Multi Pass can really save you time in long lines. I’ll go into more detail on Lightning Lane Multi Pass below.

Weather

The weather at Disneyland in June is starting to heat up! It’s not usually miserable though. During the summer months, the average high is 81 degrees F. The average low is 61 degrees F. Mornings in southern California can be a bit foggy, but the fog burns off by the afternoon. The locals call this “June gloom”.

Make sure you keep an eye on the weather before your trip so you can be prepared! Don’t forget the sunscreen and sunglasses! I’ve got lots of ideas for beating the heat at Disneyland below.

Wondering what to wear when you visit Disneyland this summer? Make sure you choose clothing that’s cool and comfortable. The shoes you wear matter too! I have a full guide about what to wear to Disneyland in June. You can find it here.

Events and Ride Closures

List of Disneyland ride closures and events in June

Here are the events you need to know about if you’re visiting Disneyland in June. There are a lot of things going on during the month of June at Disneyland! Disneyland has longer hours of operation during the summer. Check the Disneyland app to find out park hours during your visit.

Pixar Fest

Pixar Fest is in full swing at the Disneyland resort! There’s lots of fun things going on at both parks as part of the celebration. Check out my guide to Pixar Fest for all the details including a free printable with all the hidden Pizza Planet truck locations so you can find them all!

Grad Nites

Disneyland host Grad Nites on select nights in May and June. Local graduating high school seniors come to the parks to celebrate their high school graduation. Grads need a special event ticket that school groups can purchase. Some Grad Nite tickets give kids access to just Disney California Adventure Park. Some give them access to both parks.

California Adventure will close early on Grad Nites so that the teens can have the parks all to themselves. So, Disneyland will become extra crowded in the evening. If you’re visiting during a Grad Nite, don’t stress. You’re still going to have a great time, you’ll just need to adjust your plans a bit. Whenever I’ve visited on Grad Nites, I’ve still had a great time. You can find out more about Grad Nites along with the dates here.
