Looking for the best breakfast at Disneyland? I’ve got you covered! There are more breakfast choices around the Disneyland Resort than you might think, but they aren’t all the best use of your time—especially first thing in the morning. I’ve pulled together the options that are actually worth considering, including quick-service breakfasts, sit-down meals, character dining, Disneyland Resort hotel restaurants and a few easy choices outside the parks.
My biggest breakfast tip is simple: if you’re rope dropping, don’t spend that first hour sitting down for a long breakfast. The first hour after the park opens is some of the best ride time you’ll get all day. Eat at your hotel, bring something with you or grab a quick breakfast in the park. Save a table-service or character breakfast for a rest day, an arrival day or a morning when rides aren’t your top priority.
My Quick Picks For The Best Breakfast At Disneyland
- Best quick breakfast at Disneyland Park: Ronto Roasters
- Best sit-down breakfast at Disneyland Park: Carnation Cafe
- Best quick breakfast at Disney California Adventure: Pym Test Kitchen or Smokejumpers Grill
- Best leisurely brunch: Lamplight Lounge on Friday, Saturday or Sunday
- Best character breakfast inside a park: Minnie & Friends at Plaza Inn
- Best breakfast before entering the parks: Your hotel’s free breakfast, if it has one!
Discount Disneyland Tickets
Before we get to the food, let’s talk tickets. Disneyland requires valid theme park admission and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same date. A dining reservation does not get you into the park.
Please don’t pay full price for your Disney tickets or hotel! My partners at Get Away Today have great deals on Disneyland tickets and vacation packages. You can book online or call 855-GET-AWAY. Make sure you tell them Melissa from Mix In Some Magic sent you. If you book a package with park tickets and a hotel room, use code MIX10 to save an extra $10. That’s more breakfast money, friends!

Before You Choose A Disneyland Breakfast
Think about what kind of park morning you want. If your goal is to ride as much as possible, eat before you arrive or choose something quick that you can mobile order. Table-service breakfast is fun, but it can easily take an hour or more once you check in, order and eat. You don’t need a table-service reservation to have a good breakfast at Disneyland.
Mobile ordering is a huge time-saver. Open the Disneyland app while you’re walking to the restaurant, choose an available arrival window and place your order. Availability and menus can change, so always check the app on the day of your visit.
Best Breakfast At Disneyland Park
Market House
Quick service | Main Street, U.S.A.
Market House is the Starbucks location inside Disneyland. You’ll find familiar breakfast sandwiches, egg bites, pastries, wraps and other grab-and-go choices. The line can get long in the morning, so I wouldn’t make this my first stop if you’re trying to take advantage of short ride waits. It’s convenient if your group wants familiar food or you’re already passing through Main Street.
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe
Quick service | Main Street, U.S.A. | Mobile order may be available
Jolly Holiday is a good choice for a lighter breakfast. The current menu includes a bacon and egg croissant, yogurt parfait and assorted pastries. The patio has a lovely view of the castle area, but seating can fill quickly. This is an easy option when you want something fast without committing to a full sit-down meal.
Carnation Cafe
Table service | Main Street, U.S.A. | Reservations recommended
Carnation Cafe is my pick when you want a real sit-down breakfast inside Disneyland. The menu has a breakfast skillet, veggie skillet, breakfast sandwich, Walt’s Chili Cheese Omelet, Mickey-shaped waffles, buttermilk pancakes and plant-based overnight oats. Eating on Main Street is such a classic Disneyland experience. Just remember that this is not the breakfast I would choose on a serious rope-drop morning because you’ll be using valuable ride time.

Ronto Roasters
Quick service | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge | Mobile order may be available
The Ronto Morning Wrap is one of the best quick breakfasts in Disneyland. It has scrambled eggs, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheddar and peppercorn sauce wrapped in pita bread. It’s filling, portable and much faster than a table-service meal. If you’re starting your morning in Galaxy’s Edge, this one is hard to beat.

Best Breakfast At Disney California Adventure
Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe
Quick service | Buena Vista Street
This is the Starbucks location inside Disney California Adventure. It has breakfast sandwiches, wraps, pastries and grab-and-go items. It’s convenient, but the morning line can be a time-eater. If rides are your priority, I would eat before arriving or choose a mobile-order location farther into the park.
Pym Test Kitchen
Quick service | Avengers Campus | Mobile order may be available
Pym Test Kitchen is a fun breakfast choice for families because the food comes with an Avengers twist. Current choices include French toast, chilaquiles, a traditional breakfast plate and an Impossible garden breakfast. There are also kids’ options and allergy-friendly selections. This is a much better fit for a park morning than a long table-service meal.

Smokejumpers Grill
Quick service | Grizzly Peak | Mobile order may be available
Smokejumpers Grill is another solid quick-service breakfast. Look for French toast sticks, a breakfast sandwich, breakfast burritos and kids’ meals. The portions are more substantial than a pastry, so it’s a good choice when you need something that will keep everyone going until lunch. Check serving times in the app because breakfast menus don’t last all day.
Lamplight Lounge Brunch
Table service | Pixar Pier | Friday, Saturday and Sunday | Reservations recommended
Lamplight Lounge serves brunch on select days, currently Friday through Sunday. The menu includes choices like French toast, chilaquiles, steak and eggs, a brunch burger, a smoked salmon egg-white omelet and plant-based potato flautas. This is a fun, leisurely meal with a great atmosphere, but it is definitely not a grab-and-go breakfast. I would plan it for a slower park day and make a reservation as early as you can.
Character Breakfast At Disneyland Resort
Character breakfast can be one of the sweetest parts of a Disneyland trip, especially with little ones. It’s also expensive and takes time, so I usually recommend scheduling it on an arrival day, departure day or non-park morning. Character lineups can change, and reservations are highly recommended.
Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park
Plaza Inn | Disneyland Park | Park ticket and reservation required
This is the only character breakfast inside Disneyland Park. The all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet includes made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, fruit, pastries and adorable Minnie waffles. You’ll meet Minnie and a changing lineup of Disney friends. It is convenient if you want characters without leaving the park, but remember that the meal uses park time.
Goofy’s Kitchen
Disneyland Hotel | Character buffet
Goofy’s Kitchen is a lively character buffet with classic breakfast favorites, Mickey waffles, pancakes, eggs, breakfast meats, pastries and plenty of kid-friendly choices. I’ve done the Halloween character breakfast here, and it was SO much fun—honestly, it may be my favorite character dining experience during Halloween. Seasonal costumes and experiences can change, but the playful Goofy’s Kitchen atmosphere is always a big part of the fun. You do not need a park ticket to eat here.
Mickey’s Tales of Adventure at Storytellers Cafe
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa | Character breakfast and brunch buffet
Storytellers Cafe offers breakfast and brunch with Mickey and friends. The buffet usually includes Mickey waffles, eggs, breakfast meats, pastries, fruit and made-to-order choices. I like this option for a non-park morning because you get the character experience without giving up your best ride time. You do not need theme park admission to dine here.

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures
Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa | Premium character breakfast
Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures is the splurge option. It’s a three-course breakfast with Princess encounters, activities and a mix of breakfast and brunch dishes. This experience is currently offered on select mornings, and it is significantly more expensive than the other character breakfasts. If you have a serious Princess fan and this is a priority, reserve it early and plan plenty of time for the full experience.
Breakfast At The Disneyland Resort Hotels
You can eat at Disneyland Resort hotel restaurants even if you aren’t staying at the hotel. You also don’t need theme park admission. Hotel breakfast is a great choice on a rest day or before you enter the parks.
Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill
Disneyland Hotel | Fast casual
Tangaroa Terrace has one of the more interesting quick breakfasts at the resort. The menu has included an American breakfast, a Korean-style egg sandwich, a loco moco burrito, tropical pancakes, ube-stuffed French toast and avocado toast. I love that the food feels more special than a basic hotel breakfast without requiring a character-dining budget.

The Coffee House
Disneyland Hotel | Quick service
The Coffee House is useful when you need something fast. Along with drinks, it has breakfast biscuit sandwiches, breakfast burritos, croissant sandwiches, bagels, pastries, fruit and grab-and-go items. This is the kind of breakfast stop that works before a park day because you can eat quickly and keep moving.
GCH Craftsman Grill
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa | Quick service
GCH Craftsman Grill has hot breakfast entrées plus grab-and-go choices. It’s a convenient option if you’re staying at the Grand Californian or walking through Downtown Disney. Hearthstone Lounge at the same hotel also offers a continental breakfast if you want something simpler.
Great Maple Modern American Eatery
Pixar Place Hotel | Table service brunch
Great Maple serves brunch with choices like fried chicken and maple bacon doughnuts, breakfast scrambles, biscuit Benedicts and other modern comfort food. It’s a better fit for a slow morning than a rope-drop day. Make a reservation if this meal is important to you.
Breakfast Near Downtown Disney
Downtown Disney itself has fewer true breakfast options than it did a few years ago. You’ll still find Starbucks and quick sweets like beignets, but several restaurants that used to appear on Disneyland breakfast lists have closed or changed. For a full meal, I would choose one of the nearby hotel restaurants instead of wandering around hoping something is open.
Don’t Forget Your Hotel’s Free Breakfast
Honestly, one of the easiest and least expensive Disneyland breakfasts is the one included with your hotel room. I love staying within walking distance of the parks, and a hotel with free breakfast can save both time and money. I’ve stayed at the Element Anaheim Resort, and its complimentary breakfast was one of the best free hotel breakfasts I’ve had near Disneyland. I had egg whites with root vegetables, a cinnamon scone, fruit and yogurt. It was such a good way to start a park day.
You can find more options in my Disneyland hotel reviews. Look for breakfast details before booking because hotel offerings and schedules can change.
Can You Bring Breakfast Into Disneyland?
Yes, guests may bring outside food and nonalcoholic drinks into the parks as long as they follow Disneyland’s rules. Granola bars, fruit, muffins and breakfast sandwiches can make a park morning so much easier. Read my guide to what you can and cannot bring into Disneyland before you pack.
Disneyland Breakfast Reservations
Dining reservations can generally be made up to 60 days in advance, and popular character meals can fill quickly. If you don’t find the time you want, keep checking. Plans change and reservations often pop back up. Same-day walk-up availability may also appear in the Disneyland app, but I would never count on it for a must-do meal.
Menus, prices, hours, character lineups and mobile-order availability can change, so double-check everything in the Disneyland app before your visit.
My Final Disneyland Breakfast Advice
The best Disneyland breakfast depends on your plan for the day. If you’re rope dropping, eat before the parks or grab something fast like a Ronto Morning Wrap. If you want a relaxed meal, Carnation Cafe or Lamplight Lounge brunch is a better fit. Save character dining for a morning when you can enjoy it without watching the clock.
And please don’t skip breakfast completely! Disneyland days are long, and everyone has more fun when they aren’t hungry. Pick the option that works for your budget, your schedule and your family.
