Discount Disneyland Packages

If you’re visiting Disneyland soon you’re probably wondering what you can bring to the Disneyland park. You probably also want to know what you cannot bring to Disneyland. No one wants to get turned away at the theme park gates because they’re trying to bring in a restricted item! In this article, we’ll go over what you can and cannot bring into Disneyland. I’ll also include some other helpful information that will make your life easier and help your Disneyland trip run a little more smoothly.

Please be aware that Disneyland and all Disney theme parks require a park ticket and a park reservation to enter. You must have both. You can make your park reservations 120 days in advance. Please don’t pay full price for your park tickets! Discount Disney park tickets are available. My partners at Get Away Today have discount tickets and hotels available! Their tickets are always discounted off the gate price. So, you’re always going to save money by purchasing your tickets through them. I’ve been using them for 15 years and I won’t buy my park tickets anywhere else! Their customer service is top-notch and they even have layaway plans! I know you’re going to love them.

Disney parks are pretty comparable to other theme parks when it comes to what items you cannot bring into Disneyland. However, they really pretty accommodating when it comes to the food they allow inside. Some theme parks limit what outside food and beverages you can bring into the park, but luckily Disney isn’t one of them! Let’s talk about what you can and cannot bring into Disneyland.

What You Can Bring Into Disneyland

Basically, if it’s not on the “do not bring” list, you’re good to go! Make sure you check your stroller size, as very large strollers are not allowed. It’s a good idea to measure your stroller before you leave for your trip. You cannot bring a selfie stick, but folding tripod stands or monopod stands that can fit inside a standard backpack are permitted.

Most guests wonder what food they’re allowed to bring to Disneyland. Some theme parks have incredibly strict rules about bringing in outside food. Luckily, Disneyland is not one of them! This is great for people with dietary restrictions, small kids, or guests looking to save a little money.

What Food Can You Bring To Disneyland

Can I bring outside food into Disneyland?

Bringing in your own food is one of the best ways to save a little money. I’m always looking for ways to save money at Disneyland! Every little bit helps. I have a whole post on saving money at Disneyland here.

Here’s the Disneyland food policy from the Disneyland website. This policy applies to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park.

Guests are allowed to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverages into the parks for self-consumption provided they are not in glass containers(excluding small containers like baby food jars), and do not require heating, reheating processing, or refrigeration, and do not have pungent odors. Inform a Security Cast Member of any food items when you enter the park.

Suitcases, bags, coolers, or backpacks, with or without wheels larger than 24 inches long x 15 inches wide x 18 inches high are not allowed. Loose ice or dry ice is not permitted in these containers. Reusable ice packs are recommended.

So, you have a lot of freedom about what food you can bring to Disneyland. When we’re visiting with our family I like to bring in lots of our snack items like granola bars, carrot sticks, apple slices, fruit snacks, and crackers. I also like to throw in some beef jerky for a little extra protein. Dried fruit is a huge hit with my kids. I also bring a little bit of candy like suckers or smarties to keep kids happy in long lines.

A reusable water bottle is a great option to save you from paying for overpriced bottles of water. I love these Disney-themed refillable water bottles from Amazon! We also love hydro flasks. You can ask for free ice water at any of the quick service dining locations.

We usually pack a full lunch to eat in the parks on our Disneyland vacation. This is a good idea if you have young kids who might be a bit picky with their food. Or, if you you’re looking to save money, this is the best way! You can save so much money by bringing in your food. We like to eat breakfast at our hotel(find my hotel reviews here), pack in a lunch, and then eat dinner in the parks. Only purchasing one meal per day helps our budget!

For lunch, we pack things like sandwiches, applesauce, bags of chips, cookies, and Capri suns. Sometimes we’ll do uncrustables for the kids or Lunchables. I like to bring a small Tupperware for our sandwiches instead of a Ziploc bag. No one likes to eat a squished sandwich!

There is a complimentary picnic area in the esplanade between the two parks, but we usually just find a quiet shady spot and have a quick lunch.

I’ve got a whole post about packing in food to Disneyland that’s full of helpful information including food ideas, what types of small coolers work the best and how to keep them cool using your own water bottles. I’ve also got some ideas on my favorite places to eat our picnic lunch and where we store our lunch until we’re ready to eat it. You can find it here.

Disney does have a variety of great dining options too! You can make dining reservations 60 days in advance on the Disneyland app or website. But, there are so many great quick service dining options that don’t require reservations. We usually go with a quick service meal. I’ve got a guide to the best quick service restaurants at Disneyland here.
