There’s a new Marriott option near Disneyland—and if this hotel looks a little familiar, there’s a reason!
The former Cambria Hotel Anaheim Resort, which more recently operated as Anaheim Resort Suites, has officially become a dual-brand SpringHill Suites and Fairfield by Marriott property.
I was recently invited to stay and check out the newly rebranded hotel, refreshed guest rooms, and all of the family-friendly amenities. And there is a LOT to like about this hotel, especially if you’re visiting Disneyland with kids.
We’re talking about a huge 30,000-square-foot waterpark, free hot breakfast, spacious family-friendly rooms, a poolside bar, and a whole group of restaurants basically right outside the hotel.
Let’s take a look!
Disclosure: I was invited to stay at the hotel for purposes of this review. As always, all opinions are my own.
SpringHill Suites & Fairfield by Marriott Anaheim
One of the interesting things about this property is that it’s actually two Marriott brands operating under one roof: SpringHill Suites by Marriott Anaheim Theme Park / Convention Area and Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Anaheim Theme Park / Convention Area.
So yes, if you’re a Marriott Bonvoy person, this property is now part of the Marriott family.
The hotel recently went through its rebrand and the guest rooms have been refreshed as part of the transition.
But honestly, the biggest reason I think families are going to love this hotel is everything you get outside of the room.
And we have to start with that waterpark.
The HUGE Waterpark

This is definitely the standout feature at this hotel.
The property has a 30,000-square-foot outdoor waterpark, and this is much more than your standard hotel pool.
There’s a large swimming pool, areas for younger kids, waterslides, splash areas, a whirlpool, lots of seating and outdoor areas where families can hang out.
If your kids care about the hotel pool when you go on vacation, this is one they’re probably going to get VERY excited about.
And I think that makes this hotel especially nice for a longer Disneyland vacation.
You could spend the morning in the parks and come back for an afternoon at the pool, or build in a slower day where everyone sleeps in, swims and actually enjoys the hotel.
Sometimes a hotel near Disneyland is just somewhere to sleep.
This one can actually be part of the vacation.
Splash Lounge: Poolside Food & Drinks
Another thing I really like about the pool area is Splash Lounge, the hotel’s poolside bar and food spot.
They serve casual food and drinks right next to the waterpark, and the current hours are 2:00 PM–9:30 PM daily. Hours can change, so check with the hotel during your stay.
I love this setup for families.
You can spend a few hours at the waterpark, grab something to eat without having to leave the property, and hang out by the pool for the afternoon or evening.
There’s also a large outdoor movie screen in the pool area, so this would be such a fun way to end a slower vacation day.
Family-Friendly Rooms

The rooms are another big reason I think this property works well for families.
Depending on the room type you choose, there are options for regular hotel rooms, larger suites and rooms with bunk beds.
The current hotel photos even show built-in bunk beds and kitchenette/wet bar areas in some of the family suites.
One of my FAVORITE features is the bathroom setup.
Many of the rooms have two separate showers, including a shower/tub combination, which might not sound exciting until you’re trying to get an entire family showered and ready for Disneyland in the morning.
Then it feels genius.
Mini-fridges and microwaves are also listed in the room amenities, which I always appreciate at a Disneyland hotel.
If you’re traveling with a larger family, definitely look through the different room configurations when booking. Get Away Today currently lists everything from two-queen rooms to one-bedroom family suites with bunk beds and a two-bedroom family suite for much larger groups.
Free Hot Breakfast

Okay, you know I love a Disneyland hotel with free breakfast.
Breakfast is included here, and that is such a nice perk for families.
The current buffet includes hot breakfast options, waffles, fruit, yogurt, bakery items, coffee and more.
Besides saving money, I think free breakfast just makes Disneyland mornings easier.
Instead of figuring out where everyone is going to eat before heading to the parks, you can come downstairs, grab breakfast and get on with your day.
Especially when you’re paying for food inside Disneyland later, I am ALL for taking advantage of breakfast that’s already included with the room.
Lots of Restaurants Right Outside the Hotel
This might be one of the most underrated things about this property.
There are a bunch of really easy, family-friendly restaurants right by the hotel.
You’ll find options like:
- The Habit Burger Grill
- California Fish Grill
- Luna Grill
- Jersey Mike’s
- Ono Hawaiian BBQ
- Yogurtland
- Starbucks
Marriott also specifically highlights several of these restaurants as being just steps from the hotel.
And I know having restaurants nearby might not sound as exciting as a waterpark, but trust me—after a long Disneyland day, it matters.
When everyone is exhausted and one kid wants a burger and somebody else wants something completely different, it is SO nice to have easy options right there.
You can grab dinner, bring something back to your room, pick up Starbucks in the morning or grab Yogurtland for dessert without making another big excursion.
How Far Is It From Disneyland?
The hotel is about a mile from the Disneyland Resort, at 101 East Katella Avenue in Anaheim.
You have several options for getting to the parks.
You can use Uber or Lyft, which is a really easy option when you don’t feel like walking.
And if you have a car, you can always drive over and use Disneyland parking.
You can also walk if your family is comfortable with it. I would plan on roughly 20–25 minutes, depending on your pace and how you hit the lights.
I actually like looking at it that way rather than thinking you have to walk every day. Pick whatever works best for your family.
Other Hotel Amenities

There are a few other useful amenities around the property too.
You’ll find a fitness center, guest laundry and a marketplace where you can pick up snacks, drinks and travel essentials.
The fitness center has both cardio and strength equipment, and the property offers complimentary Wi-Fi as well.
These aren’t necessarily the things that are going to convince your kids to stay here, but they’re really useful if you’re visiting for several days.
Parking
Parking is something you’ll want to factor into your hotel budget.
Marriott currently lists self-parking at $40 per day.
However, if you’re booking through Get Away Today, make sure you check their current hotel offer before booking. Their listing currently shows special booking perks for this property, including a reduced parking rate and a waived resort fee. Offers and pricing can change, so I always recommend checking the current details for your travel dates.

Is SpringHill Suites & Fairfield Anaheim Good for Families?
I think families are really where this hotel shines.
If you want a hotel with:
- A HUGE waterpark
- Waterslides
- Family-friendly room configurations
- Bunk bed options
- Free hot breakfast
- A poolside bar and food
- Lots of restaurants nearby
- Microwaves and mini-fridges
- Larger room options for families and groups
…there’s a lot to like here.
I especially like it for families taking a longer Disneyland vacation who want to leave a little time to actually enjoy their hotel.
If you’re paying for a hotel with a waterpark like this, give your kids some time to use it!
My Overall Thoughts
I really enjoyed checking out the newly rebranded SpringHill Suites and Fairfield by Marriott.
The refreshed rooms are nice, but for me, the things that really make this hotel stand out are the family-friendly rooms, free breakfast and that huge waterpark.
I also love having so many restaurants right outside the hotel. It makes grabbing food incredibly easy, especially at the end of a long park day.
And now that it’s part of Marriott, I think this property is going to be especially interesting for Disneyland visitors who prefer Marriott hotels or use Marriott Bonvoy.
If you want your hotel to be more than just somewhere you sleep between Disneyland days, this is definitely one to put on your list.
