Discount Disneyland Packages

If you’re visiting Disneyland soon, you’re probably wondering if there will be anything fun for your baby to do on your Disney vacation. Fear not! Your baby isn’t doomed to sit in the stroller your entire trip. There are so many things for your baby to see and do. Here’s a list of the best rides for babies at Disneyland. Disneyland is one of the very few places perfect for the entire family. It’s a great place to vacation!

I’ve got a post with 25 tips for visiting Disneyland with babies and toddlers. It’s full of tons of helpful information, so make sure you check it out! You can find it here.

I also have a whole episode on my podcast where I discuss babies and toddlers at Disneyland.

Even though your baby won’t be needing a ticket when visiting the Disneyland Resort(under 3 is free), the rest of your family will! Please don’t pay full price for your park ticket. Discount tickets are available! My partners at Get Away Today have tickets that are always discounted off the gate price. They also have amazing deals on hotels! I’ve been buying my tickets through them for 15 years. I won’t buy my tickets anywhere else! You can check them out here. You can also find all my hotel reviews here.

I prefer a hotel room within walking distance when I’m visiting Disneyland with a baby. This makes it easy to head back to the hotel for nap time or early bedtime.

Before we get started talking about the best rides for babies at Disneyland, I want to mention a few things that will be helpful for you to know when you visit Disneyland with your baby.

Baby Care Centers

There is a baby care center in each park. Take advantage of them! They have so many great things to offer and are fully staffed with cast members if you need anything. Here’s what you can find inside.

  • Nursing room with chairs
  • Changing room with tables
  • Toddler-size toilets (for Guests under 42” tall)
  • Feeding area with high chairs
  • Kitchen with sink, bottle warmers, and microwave (select use only)
  • Vending machine offering formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, pacifiers, and over-the-counter medication—all available for purchase with a credit card

At Disneyland, The Baby Care Center is located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., next to First Aid. The Baby Care Center at Disney California Adventure Park it’s located next to Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop and across from The Bakery Tour in Pacific Wharf.

Grandparents

If you’re able, consider bringing your Grandparents along for the trip. An extra set of hands can be incredibly helpful when visiting Disneyland with babies and toddlers. Grandparents can wait with little kids while you take older kids on some of the bigger rides with height restrictions.

This is also a great time for Grandparents to bond with their grandchildren. There’s no better place to make memories with grandchildren than the happiest place on earth!

Strollers

Plan on using a stroller. Even if you think your toddler is a champ and can walk all day, you need a stroller when visiting Disneyland with babies and toddlers. Even if you plan on carrying them often, you still need a stroller.

Double strollers are a good idea if you have more than one child who will want to ride. A stroller is great for breaks, naps, and carrying all of your extra stuff! There are rental strollers available at the parks if you prefer, but I like to bring my own stroller. A stroller ride at naptime may be the best ride for babies at Disneyland!

Rider Switch

Use rider switch(AKA rider swap or child swap) whenever possible. Rider switch is designed for guests visiting Disneyland with babies and toddlers, so you need to be taking advantage of it! It will help you avoid waiting in long lines.

With rider switch, an adult waits with any young children who are too small to ride the attraction. Then, the waiting adult can switch places with the adult who just experienced the attraction and enjoy the ride without waiting in the long line. This is a great way to experience bigger attractions like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Incredicoaster.

It sounds a little complicated, but it’s not. You can find out more information about ride switch here. Or, you can ask a cast member at the entrance to the attraction how to use this great service.

My top picks

Now that you know all of the rides at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure park without a height requirement, let’s chat about my top picks for the best rides for babies at Disneyland. There are lots of options, but I think these are perfect for small children. They aren’t scary or wild at all. If you have older children, these rides are also great for them. Especially if it’s their first time at Disneyland. You don’t want to scare them too much right off the bat!

We took my oldest son to Disneyland for his first visit when he was three years old. The first ride we took him on was “Snow White’s Scary Adventure”. Now, this ride has been refurbished and is not as spooky as it used to be. But, back in the day, it was pretty scary. Well, my young son was terrified. He hated it. This caused problems for us for the rest of our vacation. He was so nervous on every ride we went on because he was afraid it would be as scary as Snow White.

I wish we would have picked a different first ride that day. Something light and fun to ease him into the wonderful world of Disneyland.

Here are my top 10 picks for the best rides for babies at Disneyland.

Disneyland

  1. Dumbo the flying elephant- This ride is a great option! It’s fun and happy! Babies will be able to see the whole ride and how it works before you ride, which may help ease any anxieties or fears.
  2. KIng Arthur Carrousel- This classic carrousel is whimsical and fun! Perfect for little ones!
  3. ” it’s a small world”- This long boat ride is full of songs and adorable dolls. There’s so much to look at, your baby is sure to love it!
  4. The many adventures of Winnie the pooh- This colorful attraction is filled with music and everyone’s favorite bear, Winnie the Pooh.
  5. Jungle Cruise- This relaxing boat ride is filled with so many animals! It’s sure to delight your little ones!

California Adventure

  1. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!- This fun-filled attraction has so many things to look at! Your little one will enjoy it!
  2. The Little Mermaid- Ariel’s Undersea Adventure- This relaxing ride always has a short wait time and your baby will love it!
  3. Golden Zephyr- Spin gently on this fun attraction!
  4. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind- Your little one will love the colors, music, and spinning on this fun attraction.
  5. Jessie’s Critter Carousel- Take a ride with Jessie and her favorite critters on this magical merry-go-round.

Honorable mention

These two rides are some of the best rides for babies at Disneyland, but their long wait times made me hesitant to put them on my top 10 list of best rides for babies at Disneyland. You can usually expect to wait around 40 minutes for each of these attractions.

  1. Alice In Wonderland- Take a magical trip to Wonderland with Alice! Lots of colors and music to enjoy!
  2. Peter Pan’s Flight- Soar high above London in a magical pirate ship! This fun-filled ride is wonderful for the whole family!

I hope this list of best rides for babies at Disneyland was helpful for you! Disneyland with babies can be so much fun! Just make sure you are flexible and go with the flow.
