Halloween

Halloween is one of the most exciting times to visit Disneyland Resort. From early September through October, the park transforms into a spooky wonderland filled with pumpkins, ghosts, and other decorations. Check out my complete guide to Disneyland at Halloween time for even more information.

As soon as you enter the park, you’ll be greeted with the iconic Mickey Mouse pumpkin head that signals the start of the Halloween season. Main Street is decorated with orange and black banners, and jack-o-lanterns and ghostly figures are scattered throughout the park.

In addition to the decorations, Disneyland Resort offers a variety of unique events and activities during the Halloween season. One of the most popular events of the whole year is the Oogie Boogie Bash. This separately ticketed event features exclusive entertainment, trick-or-treating, and a special Halloween-themed parade. This after-dark event is held on select nights at Disney California Adventure Park.

Disneyland Resort has plenty to offer if you’re looking for Halloween-themed rides and attractions. Haunted Mansion is taken over by Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas and his friends and turned into Haunted Mansion Holiday. This holiday overlay is available during Halloween and The Holidays at Disneyland Resort.

Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission Breakout is transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark after the sun sets during the Halloween season.

Sometimes Space Mountain transforms into Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy during Halloween, but some years it is not.

Halloween Time at Disneyland is especially fun over in Cars Land! The Halloween decorations in this part of the park are wonderful! It’s my favorite place at Disneyland resort during the holidays.

Take advantage of the Halloween treats and exceptional food around the resort! Every year, Disneyland releases a Halloween Time Foodie guide filled with all the delicious offerings from this special event. Make sure you take some time to enjoy some of the delicious food!

If you’re out on Town Square or Buena Vista Street, you might spot some of your favorite characters in their Halloween costumes!

The Halloween season at Disneyland Resort is a can’t-miss experience for anyone who loves the holiday. Disney makes sure to keep the Halloween Time celebration family-friendly and appropriate for kids of all ages. Whether you’re looking for spooky thrills or want to soak up the festive atmosphere, there’s something for everyone at the park during this time of year.

Christmas

The holiday season at Disneyland Resort is a truly magical time. The park undergoes a complete transformation from November through early January, with festive decorations, special events, and holiday-themed rides and attractions. Check out my complete guide to the Holidays at Disneyland for more information. Christmas and New Year is the Main Holiday celebrated, but Disneyland also acknowledges many other holidays at this time of year with the Festival of Holidays.

As soon as you enter the park, you’ll be greeted with a massive Christmas tree on Main Street, decorated with thousands of lights and ornaments. The park is adorned with wreaths, garlands, and other holiday decorations, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Holiday music is everywhere and adds to the feeling of the season.

One of the Christmas season highlights at Disneyland Resort is the Festival of Holidays, a celebration of diverse cultural traditions featuring live music, dance performances, and food booths serving up holiday-inspired dishes. Another must-see event is the Christmas Fantasy Parade, featuring floats adorned with Disney characters in their holiday best. And, of course, there’s the nightly “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks show, set to a festive soundtrack and featuring snowfall on Main Street.

Make sure you save some time to meet Santa Claus! You can meet him in several different places throughout the resort, but my favorite place to meet him is Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

In addition to the special events, many of the park’s rides and attractions also get a holiday makeover during the Christmas season. “it’s a small world” changes to “it’s a small world Holiday” and is a fan favorite, featuring over 300,000 lights and holiday-themed decorations from around the world. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is changed into Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters becomes Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl. Haunted Mansion is taken over by Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas and is turned into Haunted Mansion Holiday!

Christmas time at Disneyland is filled with all kinds of delicious Holiday treats! Handmade candy canes are incredibly popular, and Mickey-shaped gingerbread cookies are a favorite. A foodie guide is released yearly to help you navigate all of the food around the resort and the Disney Festival Of Holidays.

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends will greet you in special holiday outfits!

The holiday season at Disneyland Resort is a truly enchanting experience. It may be the best time of the year to visit! From the festive Christmas decorations to the special events and holiday-themed rides, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. If you plan to visit the park during the holiday season, take the time to soak up all the magic and wonder that Disneyland has to offer.

Other Holidays

While Halloween and Christmas are the main focus of Disneyland Resort’s holiday decorations and events, the park also decorates for a few other holidays throughout the year, though to a lesser extent.

You can expect to see a few decorations on Main Street for Valentine’s Day. Unique food offerings and Valentine’s Day-themed merchandise are also available for purchase. I’ve got a complete guide to Valentine’s Day to help you. A special event called Sweet Heart Nite is offered on select nights around mid-February. However, no attraction overlays or entertainment specifically for Valentine’s Day at Disneyland Resort exists.

St. Patrick’s Day is another holiday that Disneyland Resort acknowledges with some subtle decorations. You may see green banners and clover-shaped decorations on Main Street, and a few special food items may be available at some of the park’s restaurants. However, no special events or attractions are specifically for St. Patrick’s Day at Disneyland Resort.

Easter is perhaps the most significant of the other holidays celebrated at Disneyland Resort. The park features a Springtime Roundup, which includes egg hunts, Easter-themed crafts, and some easter themed treats. In addition, you’ll find pastel-colored decorations and flowers throughout the park, as well as special food offerings such as Easter-themed treats and brunches.

While Halloween and Christmas are the main focus of Disneyland theme parks holiday celebrations, there are still some special touches added for other holidays throughout the year. If you are visiting the park during one of these holidays, keep an eye out for any special decorations, food offerings, or events that may be taking place.

In conclusion, Disneyland Resort is a fantastic holiday destination with a magical year-round experience. While the park is known for its incredible rides and attractions, it’s also great to celebrate special holidays and events with family and friends.
