October is no longer a reliably quiet month at Disneyland. Halloween Time has become extremely popular, West Coast school districts have fall breaks throughout the month, and single-day ticket prices reflect the stronger demand.

The first full week of October and midweek dates generally give you better crowd potential than the October 9–12 holiday weekend or Halloween weekend. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays can feel more manageable than Fridays through Sundays, but October weekdays can still be busy.

How Oogie Boogie Bash Changes October Crowd Flow

Disney California Adventure closes to regular guests at 6:00 pm on Oogie Boogie Bash nights. DCA can be very productive earlier in the day because some visitors choose Disneyland instead, but Disneyland usually becomes busier in the late afternoon and evening when Park Hopper guests move over.

A one-park DCA ticket gives you a shorter park day on a party date unless you also have an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket. A Park Hopper lets you move to Disneyland after DCA closes, or you can plan a shorter DCA day and enjoy Downtown Disney or your hotel that evening.

Disneyland Weather in October

October weather in Anaheim is usually pleasant, with average daytime highs in the upper 70s and average lows around 60 degrees. The month can still bring hot afternoons in the 80s or 90s, especially during Santa Ana wind events, so do not assume every day will feel cool.

Halloween Time at Disneyland

Halloween Time runs from August 21 through October 31, 2026. The seasonal decorations, character outfits, attraction overlays, food, merchandise, and entertainment are included with regular park admission unless they are part of Oogie Boogie Bash.

• Haunted Mansion Holiday features Jack Skellington and characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas
• Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark takes over later in the day
• Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween bring Halloween music and decorations to Cars Land
• Mickey’s Trick and Treat is a family-friendly interactive show at Disney California Adventure
• Halloween Screams is offered on select nights, with fireworks included on select evenings

Halloween Screams uses projections, music, and Disney villains throughout the show. Nights that include fireworks are listed as “Halloween Screams with Fireworks” in the Disneyland app. Fireworks are subject to weather and can be canceled because of wind.

Plaza de la Familia

Plaza de la Familia continues at Disney California Adventure through November 2, 2026. The Paradise Gardens Park celebration honors family and Día de los Muertos with Coco-inspired entertainment, live mariachi music, colorful displays, a memory wall, crafts, and seasonal food.

World of Color – ONE

World of Color – ONE is scheduled to continue at Disney California Adventure through the Halloween season. Check the Disneyland app for showtimes and current virtual queue information during your visit.

Oogie Boogie Bash October Dates

Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed Halloween party at Disney California Adventure. The event runs from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and party-ticket holders can enter DCA beginning at 3:00 pm.

October 2026 party dates: October 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, and 31.

October party tickets range from $169 to $199, with the October 31 party priced at $199. Parking is not included, and Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Premier Pass, and Single Pass are not available during the event.

Disneyland’s October refurbishment calendar is still developing, and additional closures may be added closer to the travel dates. As of August 9, these attractions may affect October visits:

• Indiana Jones Adventure: Scheduled to close beginning September 8 with no reopening date currently posted
• Mark Twain Riverboat: Scheduled to close beginning September 8 with no reopening date currently posted
• Silly Symphony Swings: Closed with no confirmed reopening date
• “it’s a small world”: May close late in the month for installation of the holiday overlay, but Disney has not announced the 2026 conversion dates

Do not assume a closure without checking your exact dates. Review the official Disneyland refurbishment calendar and the Disneyland app shortly before your trip because dates and reopening plans can change.

Disneyland often has longer hours during October because of the strong demand, but the exact schedule varies by date. Disney California Adventure closes at 6:00 pm on all 14 October Oogie Boogie Bash nights.
