Missing Disneyland? No worries! This will help. Disneyland’s Matterhorn Macaroon copycat recipe is the perfect way to bring some Disney magic to your home when you can’t be in the parks. The Matterhorn Macaroon may be one of the most iconic treats in the park. It’s inspired by the Matterhorn bobsleds. One of the most iconic rides in the park.
You can find them at the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe on Main Street at the Disneyland Resort. Have you been here? It’s such a magical place! They are the only place at Disneyland to get a Matterhorn Macaroon. Because they are one of my favorite treats, I decided to make them part of my Disneyland food series.

Now, you can make them at home! This delicious recipe is so simple to make and will whisk you right back to the chilly tops of the Matterhorn in no time. It’s perfect for Disney fans! This recipe uses basic ingredients and is the perfect treat when you need a little Disney at home. Check out all my Disney copycat recipes!
Our park visit is not complete until we’ve had a Matterhorn Macaroon! I have been first in line at the Jolly Holiday Bakery on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland many times to snag one of these delightful treats. This little bakery on Main Street in Disneyland is full of other yummy things to eat. Check them out here. You can utilize mobile ordering using the Disneyland app here. I’m so excited to bring you this recipe so you can enjoy a little Disney magic at home! In this recipe, I use a food processor to grind up the coconut into smaller pieces. Although I recommend it, this is not a necessary step. Feel free to skip it if you don’t have a food processor. Your final product will look a little different, but the taste will be the same and that’s what really matters!

Disneyland’s Matterhorn Macaroon CopyCat Recipe Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups flaked coconut
- 1 bag of white chocolate chips(12oz)
- 2 tablespoons milk or cream
- confectioners sugar for dusting
Disneyland’s Matterhorn Macaroon CopyCat Recipe Directions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Grind up coconut using a food processor if you want smaller coconut pieces. This step is optional, but I always do it!
- In a medium bowl or stand mixer, beat the egg whites, vanilla, almond extract, and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the sugar while whipping, until stiff peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, and coconut.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg white mixture.
- Drop heaping tablespoons of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping each one into a small mountain. Dip your fingers in water for this process if you find the batter too sticky to easily work with.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until the macaroons are lightly golden.
- Melt the white chocolate and milk or cream over a double boiler. Or, you can melt it in the microwave 30 seconds at a time until the chocolate chips are completely melted. Dip the cooled macaroons into the melted chocolate, covering the top half.
- Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar and enjoy!

- Confectioners Sugar(for a sprinkle of "snow")
