Most people think of Southern California as the land of constant sunshine and hot days and it usually is. However, the winter months can have chilly mornings and evenings. Often the winter months can have downright cold weather. You need to be prepared so you don’t freeze if you end up visiting on a cold day.

Bringing a light sweater and a hat is a good idea. I like to bring a light weight coat as well when I’m visiting Disneyland in the winter. Some people may want to bring gloves and a heavier jacket. I’ve spent some really cold days at the Disneyland resort. Layering is one of the best ways to stay comfortable in the winter.
The average high in the winter is 70 degrees F with a low of 48 degrees F. Disneyland gets about 4-5 rainy days each month during the winter. Keep an eye on the weather so you know what to expect! Visiting Disneyland in the fall is one of my favorite times to make a Disneyland visit. I enjoy the special events like the Oogie Boogie Bash and Halloween time. So, make sure you are aware you’ll most likely be having hother weather if you visit Disneyland during the fall. More info on dealing with the heat at Disneyland here.

What To Wear To Disneyland: Shoes
Choosing which shoes to wear on your Disney trip is a very important thing. Your shoes can make or break your vacation. It’s important to choose shoes that you’ll be able to walk around in all day long. High heels are out! I have had really great luck with Brooks tennis shoes. They have great support and I can walk all day in them without any trouble.
I also really like my tevas. They are another good option. I can walk all day in these shoes as well without any trouble. I like my tevas for warmer months because I can wear them on water rides and not have to worry about wet/soggy tennis shoes.
I will sometimes bring a pair of flip flops and change into them before water rides to keep my shoes dry! Changing to flip flops for a couple of hours during the day is also a great way to give my feet a break from tennis shoes.
Whichever shoes you choose(there’s lots of great options!), consider switching out shoes each day of your visit. Different shoes put pressure on different parts of your feet. Changing shoes each day can be a great way to avoid sore feet.
What To Wear To Disneyland: Dapper Day
Have you heard of Dapper Day at Disneyland? It’s a special event held at Disneyland that celebrates fun, refined style from yesterday and today. During this fun event, guests dress up in incredible outfits! Wondering what to wear to Disneyland on Dapper Days? Some are choose outfits inspired by a favorite character, others are inspired by Disney days gone by and some are just plain fun! Guests spend so much time planning the perfect outfit and it’s really fun to see all the creativity! You can find out more about Dapper Day here.
What To Wear To Disneyland: Mickey Ears
I absolutely love wearing a pair of Mickey ears to the Disney parks! They’re such a fun way to dress up any outfit and really get you in the Disney spirit! There’s lots of fun options for purchase at the Disney parks, but I’ve found their ears to be a bit heavy and the headbands sometimes give me a headache. I’ve found an ETSY shop with adorable ears that are comfortable and cute! Allie’s Ears are so much fun and she even does custom orders. You can find her shop here. Use codeMIXINMAGIC10 for 10% off your order!
Whenever you’re visiting, make sure you use your common sense when you’re deciding what to wear to Disneyland. I usually go with comfort in mind and pack accordingly. Make sure you check the weather so you’re ready for whatever comes your way!
