April brings beautiful weather, special events, and that exciting spring energy in the parks. It is also one of the busier times of year because of spring break crowds.

The good news is that with the right plan, you can still have an amazing trip and avoid the biggest mistakes most people make.

In this guide, I will walk you through everything you need to know about Disneyland in April, including crowds, weather, events, and my best tips to help you spend less time waiting in line and more time actually enjoying your trip.

Here’s everything you need to know about visiting Disneyland in April!

Disneyland In April Crowds

Disneyland in April can get crowded due to Spring Breaks. Spring Break season is an ideal time to visit for many families(maybe yours!), so their children don’t miss school. The good news is Disneyland will have longer hours and scheduled entertainment more often, so you should have plenty of time in the park.

Expect the highest crowds from late March through mid April due to spring break. If you can visit later in the month, you may see slightly lower crowd levels.

Don’t let higher crowds scare you away! You can still have a great time, even when it’s crowded. I do recommend arriving at security at least 60 minutes early. You’ll want to take advantage of the lower wait times in the morning! The afternoons bring long lines. I have many other tips to help you enjoy Disneyland when it’s crowded here. 

The best days to visit for low crowd levels are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. My Disneyland crowd calendar will be helpful for you, but keep in mind: this is my best guess at crowd levels. I don’t have a magic crystal ball, so I use this calendar for planning purposes only. 

Best Time to Visit Disneyland in April

If you have flexibility, the best time to visit Disneyland in April is later in the month after most spring break crowds have ended.

Early April tends to be the busiest, especially around Easter.

Late April can still be busy, but crowds are usually a little more manageable.

Disneyland in April Strategy You Should Not Skip!

If you are visiting in April, you need a plan for Lightning Lane.

Crowds are high this time of year and standby wait times can easily reach 60 to 120 minutes for the most popular rides by midday.

But you do not have to wait in those lines.

Disneyland in April Weather

Disneyland in April usually has mild weather. The days are starting to warm up, nights aren’t as chilly, and the rainy season has mostly come and gone.

The average high is 74 degrees F, with an average low of 54 degrees F. You may still want to pack a jacket for those chilly evenings. Keep an eye on the weather leading up to your trip so you can be prepared for a rainy day! By the end of the month, it can be pretty warm!

Disneyland In April Events

April is one of the most exciting months to visit Disneyland because there is so much happening.

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival

This festival runs through April 27th 2026. You will find food booths, special entertainment, and lots of limited time menu items throughout the park. Check out my guide to the Food and Wine Festival with a free printable foodie guide!

Season of The Force

In past years, Disneyland has hosted a full “Season of the Force” Star Wars celebration in the spring.

For 2026, Disney has not officially announced a full Season of the Force event.

However, Star Wars experiences will still be happening in late April and May, including new updates in Galaxy’s Edge and special ticketed events like Star Wars Nite.

If you are visiting earlier in April, you will likely not see these offerings. If your trip is at the end of the month or into May, you may experience more Star Wars themed entertainment and offerings.

Dapper Day

Dapper Day will take place on April 19, 2026, with additional events and the Dapper Day Expo happening April 18 and 19.

This unofficial event is when guests dress up in stylish outfits, often inspired by vintage fashion. You will see everything from classic 1950s looks to modern, polished outfits.

Even if you are not planning to dress up, it is a really fun day to be in the parks because so many people go all out.

Easter At Disneyland

Easter at Disneyland April 5 2026

Disneyland usually celebrates Easter with a fun egg scavenger hunt across both parks. You can purchase a map, find the hidden eggs, and redeem it for a prize.

Tip. These events do bring in more people, but they also make April one of the most fun times to visit.

Here’s an updated list with events and ride closures at Disneyland in April for you to be aware of.

Disney Channel Nite

Disney Channel Nite is a special after hours event at Disneyland that takes place on April 12, 14, and 16, 2026.

This is a separately ticketed event, which means the park will close early to regular guests on these nights.

If you do not have a ticket for the event, you will need to leave the park before it begins. If you do have a ticket, you can enter as early as 6:00 PM and stay for exclusive entertainment, shorter ride lines, themed food, and character experiences.

Tip. These nights can actually be great days to visit because crowds are often lighter earlier in the day, but just be aware that the park will close earlier than usual.

Star Wars Nite

Star Wars Nite is a special after hours event at Disneyland that takes place on select nights in April and May.

In 2026, Star Wars Nite will be held on April 28, April 30, May 4, and May 6.

This is a separately ticketed event, which means Disneyland will close early to regular guests on these nights.

If you do not have a ticket, you will need to leave the park before the event begins. If you do have a ticket, you can enter earlier in the evening and enjoy shorter wait times, special entertainment, themed food, and unique character experiences.

Tip. Like other after hours events, these days can actually be great to visit because crowds are often lighter earlier in the day, but you will want to plan for an earlier park closing.

What To Expect At Disneyland In April

Most of the rides and attractions should be up and running. Expect higher crowds because of Spring break. You can expect both parks to be open longer due to higher crowds. Take advantage of the longer park hours by staying later if you can! Arriving in time for rope drop will make all the difference during higher crowd days! Don’t let higher crowds scare you away. April is a great time to visit, and you can still have a great time, even in a crowded park.

3.  Take advantage of single-rider lines: If you are okay with riding alone or being separated from your group, single-rider lines can be a great way to save time waiting in line. Check out this attractions guide for more info. 
4.  Pack snacks and water: Bringing your own snacks and water can save money and keep you hydrated and energized throughout the day. Here’s info on what food you can bring into the park.
5.  Take advantage of the parades and shows: The parades and shows at Disneyland and California Adventure are not to be missed! Check the schedule for times and plan your day accordingly.

7.  Download the Disneyland app: The Disneyland app is an excellent tool for checking wait times, finding your way around the park, and even making dining reservations.

9. Mobile ordering can save you a lot of time. Order your food earlier in the day and adjust your pickup window later if your plans change.

If you have lots of food you’d like to try during the Food and Wine Festival, you can purchase sip and savor passes. The pass includes 8 coupons redeemable for select food and beverages(excluding alcohol). ⁣ The line to purchase the sip and savor pass can get long at the Festival Welcome Center.  Food and Wine Festival Tips

⁣Marketplace kiosks open at 10:30am.  People will start lining up about 20 minutes early at their favorite kiosks.

Lines at individual kiosks during the Food And Wine Festival get long! You don’t have to spend your entire day in line though. Find the shortest line and order everything you want(including items from other kiosks) all at once. Then, you simply show your receipt at the kiosks you’ve purchased items from and you can pick them up without waiting on line. 

⁣Keep in mind, you don’t have to have a sip and savor pass to purchase food from the Marketplaces. You can purchase items individually too.

Crowds do increase throughout the month as spring break begins, but that’s true for most popular travel seasons at Disneyland. With the right planning, you can still accomplish a lot and have an amazing trip.

Early March typically has more manageable crowds, while late March tends to be busier due to spring break travel.

If you’re prepared with a good strategy — like rope dropping and using Lightning Lane — March can be a fantastic time to visit.

Disneyland In March Deals

March can actually be a great time to find Disneyland vacation deals — especially if you travel midweek. Hotels often run promotions to fill rooms before peak summer season.

Just remember that Disneyland now requires both park tickets and park reservations, so you’ll want to plan ahead.

If you’re visiting Disneyland in March, be prepared for high crowds at times. This can translate into some long lines. The crowds will get larger as the month goes on and more kids are out of school for spring break.

Good news! You can still have a great vacation even if you’re visiting at a busy time of year. I’ve got lots of info for dealing with high crowd levels here. If you’re looking for lower crowds, try to visit beginning of the month before the spring break crowds are in full swing. The end of the month will be more crowded.

Spring break crowds also mean Lightning Lane reservations can sell out earlier in the day — especially for popular rides like Space Mountain and Indiana Jones.

The weather at Disneyland in March is usually sunny and comfortable. There’s still a chance of rain here and there, but usually nothing crazy! The average high in March is 71 F and the average low is 52 F.

Make sure you keep an eye on the weather, so you can be prepared for rain if need be. The days will be sunny, but the evenings can be chilly when visiting Disneyland in March. Make sure you pack a jacket for the cooler morning and evenings.

March is a fun time to visit because several seasonal events begin during this month. Depending on your travel dates, you may experience special festivals, entertainment, and limited-time offerings.

Here are some of the highlights you can expect.

Disneyland After Dark: 70 Years of Favorites

Disneyland is hosting a special after-hours event in March called Disneyland After Dark: 70 Years of Favorites, and it’s something to be aware of if you’re planning a trip during this time.

This limited-capacity ticketed event takes place on:

• March 3, 2026
• March 5, 2026

On these nights, Disneyland Park will close early to regular guests so the private party can begin.

Even if you’re not attending the event, this can still impact your visit in a few ways.

First, crowds often shift. Some guests avoid those dates entirely, while others visit Disney California Adventure instead, which can make crowd patterns a little unpredictable.

Second, hotel prices can increase around special event dates, especially at the Disneyland Resort hotels and nearby walking-distance hotels.

If you are attending the event, you’ll typically get:

• Shorter ride wait times
• Unique entertainment
• Special character appearances
• Exclusive photo opportunities
• Themed food and merchandise
• A much lower-crowd experience in the park

After Dark events are especially popular with Disney fans because they offer a rare chance to experience attractions with minimal waits and unique entertainment you won’t see during the day.

Planning tip: If you’re visiting during the first week of March but not attending the event, consider choosing a different park day for Disneyland or planning a shorter evening since the park will close early.

On event days, Lightning Lane demand during the daytime can be higher than normal, so planning your reservations early is especially helpful.

New for 2026: Bluey at Disneyland

If you’re visiting Disneyland in late March 2026 or beyond, there’s an exciting new experience especially for families with younger kids — Bluey is coming to the parks!

Starting March 22, 2026, Disneyland Resort will debut “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” at the Fantasyland Theatre.

This limited-time experience is expected to include:

• Interactive entertainment
• Character appearances with Bluey and friends
• A family-friendly show atmosphere perfect for younger children
• Photo opportunities

This is a big deal for families because Bluey is incredibly popular right now, and character experiences like this often draw large crowds, especially when they first open.

If you’re visiting near the end of March, expect increased demand in Fantasyland and around the theatre area during showtimes.

Planning tip: If Bluey is a priority for your family, check showtimes early in the day and plan to arrive ahead of the performance window. Popular new entertainment offerings at Disneyland often fill up quickly.

In 2026, the festival runs March 6 through April 27, and it’s one of my favorite seasonal events at the Disneyland Resort.

My favorite part might be the Pizza Planet trucks hidden all around Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park! We had so much fun trying to find them all. Entertainment

Pixar Fest is known for its spectacular entertainment. Get ready to dance and sing along with all your favorite Pixar characters!  Be sure to check out the shows and performances happening throughout the parks. From live music to dazzling stage productions, there’s never a dull moment at Pixar Fest.

Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular

Celebrating the heart of Pixar storytelling, this nighttime spectacular will take you on an emotional journey of friendship as Pixar pals meet for the first time, set out on adventures, overcome adversity, and ultimately forge everlasting bonds—together. Favorite moments from Toy Story, Inside Out, Coco, The Incredibles, and more are now joined by new scenes featuring characters and music from Turning Red, Luca, Soul, Onward, and Elemental. Enjoy the show from Disneyland Park locations near “It’s a Small World” in the Central Plaza and along Main Street, U.S.A.

Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!

This new daytime parade from Disney Live Entertainment features dynamic, colorful floats and more than two dozen favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios films.

Red Panda Mei and her friends from Turning Red come together and rock out to their favorite boy band, 4*Town. From Soul, Joe Gardner and 22 bring their worlds together to celebrate the sweet things in life while best buddies Luca, Alberto, and Giulia from Luca enjoy their time together at the water’s edge in Portorosso.

Also, watch for floats celebrating the stories of Up and Inside Out, along with a grand finale featuring The Incredibles, Miguel from Coco, Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc., and Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.

This parade happens 2 times a day in California Adventure Park!

Club Pixar

During Pixar Fest, The Hollywood Backlot offers photo opportunities and nearby face painting each day.

During the evening, Club Pixar comes alive with an interactive DJ dance party, live performances, Pixar-themed versions of games like cornhole and tic tac toe, photo opportunities, themed food, specially crafted beverages, and even a fun “drive-in” theatre showcasing some of your favorite Pixar Shorts.

Pixar Pals Playtime Party

Join the party as Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland Park is transformed into a fun zone for the entire family! Get into the groove with some favorite Pixar pals in a high-energy show. Stop by a reading and coloring area with a Luca-themed wall to unleash your creativity. Step into the worlds of Monsters Inc., Cars, Onward, Up, and A Bug’s Life at backdrops offering picture-worthy moments to share on social media. Jump into interactive games and out-of-this-world activities based on Pixar films and watch a selection of Pixar shorts on a big screen.

The fun is endless at the Pixar Pals Playtime Party, where everyone can dance and play the Pixar way!

Character Meet and Greets

Let’s talk about character meet-and-greets. One of the highlights of Pixar Fest is getting the chance to meet some of your favorite characters up close and personal. Keep an eye out for rare character appearances—you never know who might make a special guest appearance! And don’t forget to have your camera ready for those priceless photo opportunities. There’s always delicious food at the Disney theme parks, but they’ve upped their foodie game for Pixar Fest!  Enjoy Pixar-themed food at a bunch of different locations throughout the Disneyland resort! I loved the Pixar cake from Plaza Inn. The Gusteau Macaron was absolutely incredible! The Kol Nut Whoopie Cookie Pie was also delicious if you’re looking for a couple of recommendations.  Find the complete foodie guide here. 

There’s also a parade dining package that you can check out. Treat yourself to Pixar-inspired food and treats at Sonoma Terrace, and then enjoy a prime viewing of the parade!

Pixar Fest  Merchandise

Pixar Fest Pizza Planet Truck Hunt

As part of the Pixar Fest celebration, 50 Pizza Planet trucks have been hidden throughout Disneyland and California Adventure Park! Each car has been themed to fit the area that it’s hidden in, and they are so much fun to find!  Some are pretty visible, and you’ll have to hunt for others.  Here’s a printable list of each truck with a little hint if you’d like to try and find them all!

Let’s talk about dates and duration. Pixar Fest usually runs for a limited time, so checking the official Disneyland Resort website for the latest dates is essential. Once you’ve sorted that, consider how many days you want to spend at the parks. Trust me; there’s plenty to see and do, so consider giving yourself enough time to soak it all in.

Now, onto ticketing and passes. Disneyland offers various ticket options, from single-day tickets to multi-day passes, but if you’re like me and don’t love a good deal, I recommend booking your tickets and hotel through Get Away Today. The Lunar New Year Celebration in California Adventure begins January 23rd and runs through February 22nd. 2026 is the year of the horse! The Lunar New Year celebration is a fan favorite. This multicultural celebration is filled with auspicious wishes for health, luck, and prosperity throughout the Year of the Snake.

This amazing celebration is held in Disney California Adventure Park and pays tribute to tribute to Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures.

Lunar New Year at Disneyland Events

There’s so much to see and do during Lunar New Year at the Disneyland Resort! All the festivities happen at California Adventure Park. There are no Lunar New Year celebrations happening at Disneyland Park.  Make sure you take some time to enjoy it all! Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you enjoy Lunar New Year at Disneyland every year, here’s what you can expect. From themed food to diving into the beauty of different Asian cultures, you’re going to love being a part of Lunar New Year at Disneyland!  

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession

This festive, bright musical procession honors family, friendship, and good wishes for a wonderful new year. Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession fills the street with exciting music, exquisite costumes, and traditional dances by Asian performing troupes. It’s a joyous tribute to the new year! 

Disney pals join the procession during the Year of the Rabbit, while Mulan and Mushu arrive on a breathtaking float featuring traditional drummers. Discover a magnificent Chinese dragon puppet making its way along the route as umbrella and fan dancers perform their delicate dances. Guests of all ages will delight in this cultural and unifying experience of sights, sounds, and colors that lift the heart.

The parade route runs from the Pixar Pier Gate to Paradise Gardens Obelisk and back. It happens multiple times throughout the day. Check the app for show times. Plan on arriving about 15 minutes before show time to get a good spot.

Hurry Home

Hurry Home is a sweet 6-minute pre-show to World Of Color One that features the tale of a Little Lantern on a journey to return home for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.

Live Entertainment

Enjoy live entertainment during Lunar New Year at Disneyland. Paradise Gardens Park Bandstand will present daily performances to welcome the Year of the horse and attract good luck and prosperity for the new year. Relax in the shade and enjoy music from gifted performers while they perform a fusion of Chinese folk, classical and contemporary instrumentals Check the Disneyland app for show times.

Disney Characters

Celebrate the year of the horse with Disney friends! You can find Disney characters at Paradise Garden Gazebo. Mulan and her friend Mushu will make special appearances there as well. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and friends will be visiting the Gazebo dressed in their festive attire! Don’t miss them!

Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon has joined the Lunar New Year celebration at Disneyland in the past. Hopefully she’ll be a part of it again this year! You can find her in the heart of Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Check the app for available times.

Lucky Wishes Wall

Stop by the Lucky Wishes Wall to reflect on the past and welcome in a New year full of good fortune! Guests of all ages are invited to add their own special message of hope, health, and happiness for the upcoming year to the lucky wishing wall.

Lunar New Year at Disneyland has so much to offer! Don’t miss the kid-friendly crafts and activities that are available. Festive decor and photo opportunities will be available, so have your camera ready. Of course, Disney will also have lots of fun, commemorative merchandise available for purchase as part of the Lunar New Year Celebration.

There’s much to see and do during the Lunar New Year at Disneyland Resort! It’s going to be amazing. I’ll be visiting a few times and checking it all out. 

Lunar New Year at Disneyland Food

If yummy food is on your “to-do list” it’s easy to find during Lunar New Year at Disneyland Resort! Plan on trying lots of special lunar new year-inspired food! I tried so many yummy things when I was visiting! You might have a hard time narrowing it down. I suggest splitting as much as you can with a friend so you can try more! There are lots of dining locations, so pace yourself.

Sip and Savor Pass

Use a sip and savor pass to sample Asian-inspired food and beverages from the new Lunar New Year Marketplaces! Expect to find lots of delicious Asian cuisine with a Disney twist at food booths in the Paradise Garden area. You don’t have to purchase the Sip and Savor pass to enjoy the Marketplaces, you can also purchase items individually. You can find out more info on the Sip and Savor Pass 

Hot Tip: Lines get long to purchase kiosk food items during Lunar New Year at Disneyland. You can actually avoid the long lines by purchasing all of your food at one kiosk. Just print out my free printable foodie guide. Circle the items you want to try.

When you arrive, find the kiosk with the shortest line. Purchase all of your food items at this kiosk. SAVE YOUR RECEIPT! That’s very important. Then, you can go to the pickup lines at the kiosks you purchased from any time that day to pick up your food. You can skip the order lines completely since you’ve already paid for your items! You’ll just need to show the cast member your receipt when picking up your food.

I’ve created this Disneyland crowd calendar by taking a bunch of things into consideration. I look at school breaks, conventions, special events, magic key blockout calendars, past crowds and Disneyland’s ticket prices. Disneyland park is different from Walt Disney World. Disneyworld’s guests are mainly travelers from out of town. Disneyland has a huge group of local annual pass holders(called Magic Key holders) that frequent the park. So, it’s a bit more difficult to judge crowd levels and create Disney crowd calendars for the Disneyland resort because of the many local Magic Key holders that frequent the parks on any given day.

So, please use the Disneyland crowd calendar as a tool to help you decide when to visit Disneyland, but don’t get too wrapped up or obsessed over a Disneyland crowd calendar. The truth is, Disneyland is almost always crowded. Disney likes to have full parks, it’s how they make money. So, they do what they can to make sure their parks are consistently full.

Although I don’t live in California, I visit the parks frequently and have noticed in recent years that there isn’t much of an off-season or slow season at Disneyland anymore. Disneyland hosts a lot of special events and festivals in the off-season to bring in more guests and keep things fun and exciting for Magic Key holders to keep them coming back. I hate to say it, but Disneyland is consistently crowded these days. Of course, there are higher crowd times and lower crowd times, but in general, Disneyland is just crowded because that’s how Disneyland likes it.

That being said, please don’t stress out or change your vacation plans! Yes, Disneyland is consistently crowded, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time! You’re still going to be able to experience a ton of attractions even if wait times are a little longer. You’re still going to enjoy all of the incredible entertainment. You’re still going to be able to eat all the yummy food. The magic is still there. Disneyland is still the happiest place on earth.

Are Crowd Calendars Still Valuable? Watch This!

Disneyland Crowd Calendar

Here’s my Disneyland crowd calendar for each month of the year. Please use them as a tool to help you plan your Disneyland vacation, but the Disneyland crowd calendar can change at any moment. So, don’t get too wrapped up in it.

Honestly, the best time to visit Disneyland is the time that works best for YOU. Some people need to visit during the summertime because they can’t take their kids out of school. Some people love being at Disneyland during the Holiday season. Other guests don’t mind a few rides being closed and enjoy visiting during early February. There really isn’t one “best time” to visit Disneyland.

I’ve got a full guide to each month of the year at Disneyland that includes a Disneyland crowd calendar, average weather, special events taking place, ride closures, a packing list, and more! So, make sure you check them out. They will be a great resource for you as you plan your vacation.

Lower Crowds At Disneyland

The best days to visit if you’re looking for the lowest crowds are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Sundays are also less crowded as long as you avoid holiday weekends.

To avoid large crowds, skip the times when kids are out of school like summer break, spring breaks, fall break, and school holidays. School schedules can be hard to navigate because they are so different all around the United States.

Higher Crowds At Disneyland

If you’re looking to avoid the highest crowds at Disneyland, avoid the times around all major holidays like Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year, and the 4th of July. Surprisingly, Halloween day is pretty mild(as far as crowds go). All school breaks and short holiday weekends are usually quite crowded. Summer vacation is also a busy time of year.

Disneyland Crowd Calendar For January

Disneyland Park in January usually means lower crowds(if you visit after the holiday season ends and avoid Martin Luther King day). This means shorter wait times and shorter park hours. Disneyland often does ride maintenance during January and February. So, some attractions may be closed. Disneyland also celebrates Lunar New Year begins in mid January. Disneyland Crowd Calendar For February

Disneyland Park in February usually has lower crowds as long as you avoid President’s Day and visit earlier in the month. You may run into rainy weather, so be prepared for that! Disneyland often does ride maintenance during January and February. So, some attractions may be closed. Check out my full guide to Disneyland in February for more info!

Disneyland Crowd Calendar For March

Disneyland in March has lots going on! You can expect the Food & Wine Festival, which runs during late February through mid April in California Adventure. March can be a busy time to visit, especially once Spring Breaks get going. Check out my full guide to Disneyland in March for more info!

Disneyland Crowd Calendar For April

Disneyland in April is busy with Spring break crowds! The Food & Wine Festival is happening in Disney California Adventure Park and runs through mid April. The park is full of out-of-state visitors and California residents enjoying the good weather and school breaks. Crowds usually start to die down a bit in late April. Disneyland Crowd Calendar For May

Disneyland in May means lighter crowds earlier in the month now that Spring breaks are over. Grad Nites begin in May and that can draw large crowds of graduating high school students and make for busy days. Avoid Memorial Day weekend if possible. Disneyland Crowd Calendar For June

Disneyland in June means higher crowd levels due to summer break. This also brings longer hours and the parks will be open later. If you need to visit during the summer, June is a great time of year to do it. The weather is a bit less hot in June than it will be later in the summer. Grad Nites continue in June. Disneyland Crowd Calendar For July

Disneyland in July means higher crowds levels and hot temperatures. The summer holidays are in full swing and crowds are plentiful. You can still find short lines in the mornings and later in the evening. Avoid visiting over the 4th of July if possible. Check out my full guide to Disneyland in July for more info.

Disneyland Crowd Calendar For August

Disneyland in August is pretty consistently crowded. Crowd dip a bit mid August, but not enough to really notice. Halloween Time kicks off at the end of August and that keeps crowds up. August is usually quite hot and you can expect Haunted Mansion to be closed for its Holiday overlay at the beginning of the month. Check out my full guide to Disneyland in August for more info!

Disneyland Crowd Calendar For September

Late September has lower crowds, so visit then if possible. September is still hot at Disneyland, so plan for higher temperatures. You can find great info about Halloweentime at Disneyland, the Oggie Boogie Bash more info about visiting September in my full guide to Disneyland in September.

Disneyland Crowd Calendar For October

October is filled with Halloween fun! The Oogie Boogie Bash is running on select nights. Crowds are steady at the Disney parks especially over school holidays like Columbus Day. Disneyland Crowd Calendar For November

November is a great time of year to visit Disneyland. Crowds are lower during the first part of the month and pick up as the month goes on. The Holidays at the Disneyland resort are incredibly popular and begin mid November. I think November is the best time to visit Disneyland(or one of them) because I love visiting during the Holidays! The Haunted Mansion Holiday returns and is one of the most popular rides in the park. ‘it’s a small world” also gets an amazing Holiday overlay. Disneyland Crowd Calendar For December

December at Disneyland can be a bit crowded. Everyone loves to visit during the Christmas season. There are lots of great seasonal events happening. It’s peak season at Disneyland! If you avoid Christmas Eve through New Year you’ll miss the highest crowds. Disneyland has capacity limits, so make sure you make your park reservations early if you’ll be visiting during Christmas. The Holidays run through early January. Weather can be a bit chilly, so be prepared. Check out my full guide to Disneyland in December.

If you’re visiting Disneyland in November, it’s a great time to find deals! Hotels are anxious to fill rooms, so they often offer lower prices, especially if you travel midweek.

Disneyland In November Crowds

Crowd levels at Disneyland in November go from one extreme to the other. It can be very slow at the beginning of the month(early November), but crazy busy toward the end. The reason for this is the Holiday celebrations. Disneyland has lots to offer during the holidays and it draws a lot of guests to the parks. You can expect fairly low crowds at the beginning of the month. Many guests(including locals) will wait until the holiday offerings are in full swing before they visit. The holiday festivities begin November 15th and run through early January. Expect medium size crowds in mid-November and full-blown holiday crowds beginning the week of Thanksgiving. It will also be crowded around Veterans Day.

The middle of the week is usually less crowded at Disneyland in November. If you’re looking for the very lowest crowds try to visit on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

If you happen to visit when there are large crowds, don’t be discouraged. I have a bunch of information about visiting Disneyland with Holiday crowds. Make sure you read it so you can be prepared. Plan ahead by making dining reservations ahead of time. You can make them 60 days in advance. To get a jump on the crowds, I recommend rope-dropping! This means you need to arrive at the parks 60-90 minutes before they open.

Consider adding Lightning Lane Multi Pass to your visit. Especially if you’re visiting during a crowded time of the month. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is the new system that has taken the place of the old Fastpass/max pass system. Lightning Lane does cost extra, but it allows you to skip the standby line and enter select attractions through the lightning lane. This can save you so much time! Weather

Disneyland in November usually has very mild weather, which is another good reason to visit this month! The average high at Disneyland in November is 71.4°F (21.9°C) with an average low of 56.3°F (13.5°C). There’s usually very little rain.

Daytime temperatures will likely be perfect, but it can get chilly in the mornings and evenings. I suggest bringing a jacket and long pants. Those southern California nights can be chilly! You don’t want to get stuck buying expensive Disney sweatshirts if it’s cold and you forgot to bring one. It’s hard to have a great time at Disneyland in November when you’re cold.

Here’s a list of special events that you’ll find happening at Disneyland in November. There’s a lot going on for the Holidays at Disneyland in November! So much to see and do! Both parks will have festive lights, holiday decorations, and music. There will also be an incredible assortment of holiday foods. Let’s break down the other offerings by park.

Disney California Adventure Park Holiday Events

Disney Festival of Holidays: Pay tribute to multicultural and diverse music, cuisine, and traditions.

Disney Viva Navidad!: Delight in a celebration of holiday traditions from Mexico and Brazil, brought to life by cultural performers.

Santa’s Holiday Visit at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail: Get ready for a jolly old time when you see Santa and his band of merry elves!

Ride Overlays: Two rides in Carsland transform for the holidays! Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Jingle Jamboree. Luigi’s Rollikin’ Roadsters becomes Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl.

Buena Vista Street Holiday Tree Lighting: Witness the wonder as the magnificent tree is illuminated.

Visiting Santa

You must visit Santa when you’re visiting Disneyland in November! It’s a highlight. There are quite a few places where you can meet Santa Claus. Thanksgiving At Disneyland

I visited Disneyland for Thanksgiving last year and we had a really great time! I was nervous about crowd levels during Thanksgiving week, but we didn’t let them bother us. Most restaurants (table service and quick service) prepare some type of Thanksgiving meal. If you don’t have a slice of pumpkin pie is it even Thanksgiving? I really enjoyed celebrating the holiday at the parks. I think we’ll go back in a few years and do it again. I’ve got lots of information about Disneyland on Thanksgiving here.

What To Expect

Because Disneyland in November is so popular, all the attractions should be up and running. The most popular attraction in November is the Haunted Mansion Holiday which has a Nightmare Before Christmas Holiday overlay. I talk all about it on an episode of my podcast. Because this attraction is so popular, it will have long lines, especially as the day goes on. I suggest getting there early in the day for shorter wait times or using Lightning Lane Multi Pass to skip the standby lines.

“it’s a small world’ will also have a holiday overlay for the Christmas season. It’s pretty magical! Make sure you take the time to ride on it and check out the facade at night when it’s all lit up.

On days when crowds are higher, Disneyland will have longer park hours. Use these to your advantage! Get there early for the lowest crowds. Take a break midday if things get too busy and come back in the evening for more Holiday fun.

What To Pack

Be prepared for colder weather at night and pack accordingly. You should also be prepared for a heat wave! You just never know what you’re going to get at Disneyland in November. Crowds At Disneyland In October

Let’s talk about crowds at Disneyland in October. Fall break is in full swing making it an ideal time for many families to visit. Also, Halloween time at Disneyland is becoming incredibly popular, so there are going to be higher crowds at Disneyland in October. Don’t let that deter you! Crowds are just a part of a Disney vacation.

You can still have a great time at Disneyland, even when it’s crowded. You can find more info about handling crowds at Disneyland with lots of tips and info here.

If you’re trying to avoid the largest crowds, steer clear of weekends and holidays. The best days to visit for lower crowds will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I’ve created this Disneyland crowd calendar to give you an idea of what you can expect from crowds at Disneyland during October.

The park will be more crowded on days when the Oogie Boogie Bash(more on this in the special events section) is being held. Guests without tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash will need to leave Disney California Adventure Park when the party starts or hop on over to Disneyland. So, avoid Oogie Boogie Bash days for lower crowd levels. If you are going to be visiting on a party day, make sure you have a park hopper or are at Disneyland all day so you don’t miss out on valuable park time!

To really get a jump on crowds, I recommend rope-dropping. Rope dropping is my favorite way to beat the crowds at Disneyland because you literally beat them to the park and then enjoy as many rides as possible before it gets busy! The weather is just starting to cool off at Disneyland in October. The average high is around 77 degrees Fahrenheit and 61 degrees for the average low.

Make sure you bring a light jacket. The evenings in Southern California can be chilly. Of course, it can also get very hot on some days, so you’ll want to be prepared for the heat. Halloween Time At Disneyland

Halloween time at Disneyland begins August 22nd and runs through October 31. Disneyland in October is full of festive Halloween events! There’s really no better way to get into the Halloween spirit than a visit to Disneyland in October. Disneyland goes all out for the Halloween holiday which makes it the best time to visit!

There will be special Halloween-themed food(I have a printable Halloween foodie guide here!) and amazing festive decor. Radiator Springs in Cars Land is transformed into Radiator Screams at Halloween time. It’s pretty impressive and might be my favorite area of the parks during October at Disneyland. There are plenty of great photo opportunities in this area! You must get a picture by the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin at the entrance to Disneyland. He’s pretty adorable.

Your favorite Disney characters will be wearing their Halloween costumes! What could be more fun than a picture with Mickey Mouse dressed in a Halloween costume? Make sure you bring your autograph books if you’d like to get your favorite characters’ signatures.

You’ll be able to enjoy a few Halloween-themed attractions during the Halloween season. The Haunted Mansion will be transformed into the Haunted Mansion Holiday hosted by Jack Skellington. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree turns into Mater’s Graveyard Jambooree. Guardians of the Galaxy has a special Halloween overlay called Monsters After Dark, that only takes place in the evening.

There is so much to see and do during Halloween time at Disneyland! Don’t miss the Halloween Screams projection show with fireworks. It’s so much fun!

Many people wonder if Disneyland during Halloween time will be too scary for their kids. Disneyland works really hard to be family-friendly and that’s true during Halloween time too! All of the Halloween festivities and decorations are just fun and family-friendly. There’s nothing gory about Halloween Time at Disneyland. You won’t find any horror type of Halloween-theming. I think most kids won’t find Halloween time at Disneyland scary at all. You can feel really confident taking kids of any age to Disneyland during Halloween time.

Oogie Boogie Bash

The Oogie Boogie Bash is a separate after-hours Halloween party held at Disney California Adventure Park on select nights during September and October. It’s hosted by Oogie Boogie from the Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton. This Disney Halloween Party is incredibly popular and sells out quickly. Tickets usually go on sale for this event in July.

You can find more information about this spooktacular celebration including a foodie guide, event guide, and a recommended touring plan here. It’s a really fun addition to Halloween time and my favorite after-hours event!

If you don’t have a party ticket, you will need to leave California Adventure at 6pm on party nights. Check the link above to see which nights the Oogie Boogie Bash is happening so you’re not taken by surprise by an early park closer. If you are visiting on a party night, you can hop over to Disneyland if you have park hopper tickets or just call it a night a little bit early and use that time to enjoy Downtown Disney or the pool at your hotel.

• Pack layers. Mornings and evenings can be chilly, even when afternoons are warm.

Planning ahead and using your time wisely will make your October trip feel less crowded and way more magical.

Crowds At Disneyland In September

The weather is still quite hot at Disneyland in September. It’s usually just as hot as the summer months! The average temperature high is around 84 degrees Fahrenheit and 63 degrees for the average low.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Disneyland in September is one of the hottest months of the year! You’ll want to be prepared for the heat. Halloween Time at Disneyland

Halloween time at Disneyland begins end of August and runs through October 31, 2026. Disneyland in September is full of festive Halloween events! There’s really no better way to get into the Halloween spirit than a visit to Disneyland in September. Disneyland goes all out for the Halloween holiday which makes it the best time to visit!

There will be special Halloween-themed food(I’ll have a foodie guide on my Halloween at Disneyland post) and amazing festive decor. Radiator Springs in Cars Land is transformed into Radiator Screams at Halloween time. It’s pretty impressive and might be my favorite area of the parks during September at Disneyland. There are plenty of great photo opportunities in this area! You must get a picture by the iconic giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin at the entrance to Disneyland. He’s pretty adorable.

Your favorite Disney characters will be wearing their Halloween costumes! What could be more fun than a picture with Mickey Mouse dressed as a vampire? Make sure you bring your autograph books if you’d like to get your favorite characters’ signatures.

You’ll be able to enjoy a few Halloween-themed attractions during the Halloween season. The Haunted Mansion will be transformed into the Haunted Mansion Holiday hosted by Jack Skellington. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree turns into Mater’s Graveyard Jambooree. Guardians of the Galaxy has a special Halloween overlay called Monsters After Dark, that only takes place in the evening.

There is so much to see and do during Halloween time at Disneyland! Don’t miss the Halloween Screams projection show with fireworks. It’s so much fun!

Many people wonder if Disneyland during Halloween time will be too scary for their kids. Disneyland works really hard to be family-friendly and that’s true during Halloween time too! All of the Halloween festivities and decorations are just fun and family-friendly. There’s nothing gory about Halloween Time at Disneyland. You won’t find any horror type of Halloween-theming. I think most kids won’t find Halloween time at Disneyland scary at all. You can feel really confident taking kids of any age to Disneyland during Halloween time.

Oogie Boogie Bash

The Oogie Boogie Bash is a separate after-hours Halloween party held at Disney California Adventure Park on select nights during August, September and October. It’s hosted by Oogie Boogie from the Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton. This Disney Halloween Party is incredibly popular. Tickets usually go on sale for this event in July.

Gay Days

Gay Days is a fan-created event held at Disneyland. This event draws large crowds of people. Disneyland usually has rainbow-themed merchandise and specialty foods throughout the park to add to the celebration. Gay days are usually happen around mid September.

What to Expect At Disneyland In September

The most popular attraction at Disneyland in September is the Haunted Mansion Holiday which has a Nightmare Before Christmas Holiday overlay. I talk all about the transformation of the Haunted Mansion attractions in this episode of my podcast. Because this attraction is so popular, it will have long lines, especially as the day goes on. I suggest getting there early in the day for shorter wait times or using Lightning Lane Multi Pass to ride it without a long wait. September is a good time to visit, but it will be crowded. Having a basic plan for your day will help you navigate the parks and avoid waiting in extremely long lines. What To Pack For Disneyland In September

Be prepared for heat and pack for your vacation accordingly. Don’t forget the sunscreen! You can find my full list of what I bring to in my park bag here. You don’t want to be unprepared! You might want to consider bringing Halloween costumes for your kids. Especially if you’re going to the Oogie Boogie bash. Dressing up in costume for kids and adults at the Oogie Boogie Bash is not only allowed but it’s also encouraged! There are some pretty incredible costumes at the party!
